Life Science Centre is an educational visitor attraction in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, with science exhibitions, live shows and the biggest planetarium in the North of England. We also run a varied programme of special events for adults - you'll find updates here and on our website: life.org.uk

Life Science Centre is part of the International Centre for Life - a pioneering 'science villag

Think the eclipse fun is over? Think again... 🌙✨

At 5:12am tomorrow morning, the moon will pass into the Earth’s shadow, creating a partial lunar eclipse.

As it does, you’ll see the Moon take on a coppery-red colour, giving it the nickname ‘blood moon’.

Join Blair in your dressing gown and experience this spectacular sight for yourself.

Last week, we featured on ITV Tyne Tees as part of a special programme looking at how attractions have responded to the Government’s Summer Saving scheme.

The scheme runs until 1 September and has helped families save on visits to attractions like Life, with the reduced VAT rate allowing us to offer lower ticket prices over the summer.

We also spoke about our Universal Credit Saver ticket, which launches today. Until 30 September, anyone receiving Universal Credit can visit Life with up to five people for just £5 per person.

Our Head of Schools and Communities Engagement, Fran, spoke about how the Summer Saving scheme has gone and why making Life more accessible and affordable remains important to us.

Missed it? You can watch the clip below 👇

This week, we welcomed families from our North East Autism Society Science Club to help us review our sensory bags 🎒

Hearing directly from neurodivergent families is important in helping us understand what works, what could be improved, and how we can continue making Life a welcoming and accessible place for everyone.

Thank you to the families who came along and shared their experiences and feedback with us!

Our sensory bags are available to borrow from reception during your visit.
