春谧 · Spring Hope has found a new home at Art in the Gardens – Open Air Exhibition in Sheffield.

This painting has always meant something special to me. The original piece was painted on a long, traditional Chinese scroll, and it was the very first painting I took on a touring exhibition in China.

And hope… what a beautiful word it is. ✨

Four of my original artworks are now at Sheffield Botanical Garden for Art in the Garden – Open Air Exhibition, running 4th–6th September!

From plum blossom, bamboo, chrysanthemums and crab apple flowers to sparrows and butterflies, I hope these little pieces of Chinese ink and nature bring an extra touch of beauty and tranquillity to the gardens. 🌿

Had a lovely two days with during August🩵

It was my first time exhibiting in Skipton, and I’ve had such a wonderful time meeting so many lovely people, chatting, painting, getting to know new artists, and reconnecting with previous customers while making new ones too!

Due to a car accident (I was physically fine and thankfully everything is now sorted 🥹), we had to make the difficult decision to cancel our July Lotus Painting Workshop.

But I’m so happy to say that the Lotus Painting Workshop is coming back to Leeds!

This time, we’ll learn how to use a large Chinese ink brush to capture the elegance and beauty of lotus flowers and leaves, exploring the expressive brushwork that brings them to life.

Lotus flowers
Back in China, in Hangzhou,the city where I learned the art of traditional Chinese ink brush painting, this time of year is especially beautiful.
Around West Lake, gorgeous lotus flowers are in full bloom, delicate pale pink blossoms rising above a sea of endless green lotus leaves.
Perhaps this is why I am always drawn to painting lotus flowers,the beauty of them is not only in their appearance, but also in the memories, feelings, and sense of home they hold for me.
