Colour…
We are continuing the gallery theme of ‘Colour’ with these abstract fishing boat reflections by Lucie Averill.
Sometimes Lucie’s photographs are a full-on riot of colour, but often it’s the smallest splash of complementary colour, or subtle shades of similar hues, that catch her eye.

New framed works and prints are now available, and Lucie is in the gallery today if you’d like to call in and have a look.

Sometimes as artists we place our work in groups of 3, (personally I like to do this so one fish or seagull doesn’t feel lonely 😉 ). For me I like odd numbers be it glass ceramics,photos or anywhere else.

Have you noticed how things often come in threes? It’s no surprise, then, that the number three has long held a special place in art, history and storytelling. From three wishes and the Three Kings to the Three Little Pigs and the rule of thirds, it has come to suggest natural balance, harmony and rhythm. We asked our gallery artists whether they have used ‘threes’ or trios in creating their work.
