Two youth-led groups created by our young people -
ThePearsonFoundation and Q***rUp - worked together to produce a political education workshop celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month.

We embraced our community's resilience, learnt about q***r and trans activist histories, explored our workplace rights, and designed q***r tarot cards together that led us to self-observe.

This is the first of our youth-led RECLAIMING OUR POWER political education workshops.

Thanks to everyone who came, WCML, PRIDELibrary, WeAreExplorers, UniteTheUnion and Simone for space and facilitation! Watch this space for more events.

Two of our young RECLAIM attended We Rise - Global Justice Now's youth conference in Brighton.

They met Sian Berry, learnt about some of the terrifying consequences of global trading laws, made some
prints and had lots of insightful conversations.

They came away feeling inspired and more determined than ever to create a better world.

Thank you so much, Global Justice Now!

On this , we reaffirm our commitment to justice, equity, and collective action 🤝.

Our Programmes Manager Olivia hosted our first community-building session—a powerful reminder
that community is the heartbeat ❤️ of social justice.

By coming together, we can create lasting change, increase working-class collective power, and build movements that challenge the status quo.

Our work begins with community building—creating spaces of belonging, trust, and shared purpose. From there, we focus on organising, mobilising, and transforming shared struggles into systemic change.

This year, we’re improving our visibility, celebrating working-class pride, deepening political education, and evolving how we engage with our community 🌍.

💡 Want to be part of the movement? Follow us, attend our events, join our mailing list, donate to our cause (in bio) and help us build more collective power for
working-class people ✊.

We had our Full Time Fierce Juniors first session of the year last week 🎊

The group did some power-mapping, decided on a timeline of objectives and tactics before their campaign launch, and finalised their campaign name: Working Class History Month.

Watch this space: our working-class feminist campaigners will change the face of political education locally and nationally! 🤝👊

Today was our team’s first session on emotional and in the context of social justice activism, particularly for those working in NGO settings.

We defined emotional resilience as adapting to stress and adversity and resistance as actively challenging systemic injustices while maintaining mental well-being.

We explored myths around resilience, like ‘toughing it out’ alone, only focusing on positive emotions and always ‘bouncing back’ quickly. Resilience is not a fixed trait; it’s a skill that can be learned and fluctuates over time.

We also considered the impact of resistance on well-being. NGO workers often face high emotional stress due to the nature of their work and systemic failure to support the people or causes they support.

Different factors can affect resilience like poverty, housing, gender, mental health support, education, and financial security.

The key elements of a resilient person are:

Current: living in the present, not dwelling on past failures.

Cared for: caring for others but not at the expense of your health

Called: having a sense of purpose and fulfilment.

Connected: building a supportive community.

True resilience comes from community, self-care, and purpose ❤️

*Deadline 12 tonight* 🚌📷Please support the extension of ‘Our Pass’ free public transport to all 11-16-year-olds in TfGM’s School Travel Strategy Consultation.

https://www.gmconsult.org/transport-for-greater-manchester/school-travel-strategy-consultation/

Copy and paste the following statement into the survey to show your support:

"I support and encourage young people to use public transport to get to school. However, many young people can’t do this because of transport costs. We must extend ‘Our Pass’ to all 11-16-year-olds so that young people can get free access to public transport. This will remove a significant barrier to education for young people and help our communities become safer and healthier by reducing congestion and air pollution."

Snippet from actor Danny Dyer's interview about pubs and crisps that pivoted into classism in acting (credit to the news anchor!).

He made some great points about representation in acting, being proud of your working-class roots and not losing it, and working-class work ethics and 'steel'.

Unfortunately, he did load the gun for mainstream media outlets to promote negative stereotypes about working-class areas (and they don't need much ammo) by saying his kids are scared of the council estate he grew up on.

Needless to say the media obliged, scroll to see the headlines.

There are more pressing topics in the interview that are worth discussing, like the barriers working-class actors face getting into the industry and how we remove them so it can benefit from the talent he talks about in the full interview:
