With the election of a new Labour government in 2024, you may expect a return to more working-class values. Do you think that is the case so far?

As Manchester Science Festival kicks off this weekend, here's a preview of RECLAIM's Young Policy Makers animation 'UN-DEAD HIGH STREETS'.
It follows two young people navigating a dystopian, apocalyptic high street, exploring the demise of Britain's high streets due to job losses, online shopping, supermarket growth and austerity.
You can view the animation until the 27th of October 2024 as part of the City Sparks Community Showcase.

Introducing the trailer for 'Stick Together, Stand Together', a documentary exploring the challenges young and working-class people face in gaining meaningful representation in politics.
Created by Binish Syed Qureshi, an 18-year-old campaigner from Manchester, Stick Together, Stand Together is a 30-minute documentary featuring insights from diverse voices, including trade unionists, councillors, MPs, youth workers, and researchers.
Contributors include Mary Sayer (Unite the Union), Joe Chlebik (0161 Community), Fatou Jinadu (GMIAU), Nathan Godfrey (Working Class Movement Library), and Harry Quilter-Pinner (IPPR).
Together, they explore the exclusion of working-class individuals from politics and propose steps toward creating more inclusive spaces.
We'll be releasing the full documentary after it premieres on 22.10.2024 👀
