Seaglass Gallery opened in Lympstone village five years ago today! How speedily the time has passed and how much beautiful artwork has passed through our door. Thank you to you our wonderful artists and customers. We couldn’t do this without you.

The gallery is full of beautiful artwork so do pop in and see for yourself the gentle curation in our calm and creative space. Our latest newsletter has just been sent out. If you would like to receive it and are not on our mailing list then do get in touch to let us have your email address.

Thank you for supporting our small independent business. Every kind word; recommendation to someone; like and share on social media all make a difference. Every card sold helps in its own small way. What is your favourite bird?

Maybe the avocet holds a special place in your heart. This ‘Little Avocet’ is part of a collection of beautiful mosaics that are currently showing in the gallery.

As the sun catches the gold maybe you’ll be reminded of the sun on the Exe and the special joy of seeing a silhouette of an avocet taking to the sky.

We are open from 10-4 on Fridays and Saturdays, so do pop in to see Denny Dormer’s water and nature inspired mosaics.

Denny also runs mosaic workshops, so get in touch if you would like more information.

Are you a nature lover?
Have you read the poetically written by ? It’s a wonderful story of the connection between hare and human.

Delightful new hares have arrived from the talented needle felter Joan Prowse. Each of these incredible felted creations has its own personality and such engaging eyes. As we look at them we are reminded of ‘Raising Hare’ and the pure enjoyment that wild life can offer us and how by learning more about them we can help to preserve the habitats so vital for them.

Art not toys, these collectors pieces will be uploaded to our website soon. In the meantime, do get in touch if you would like one. Each hare is £60 and stands between 18 and 23cm tall. We can easily post them out to you for a small additional charge.

Are you looking for a porcelain or stoneware vase for all the beautiful spring flowers or maybe just a few fresh sprigs from the garden? A vase of flowers on the table brings so much joy and makes a perfect gift or table centre piece.

Debbie Stewart, local potter, has just dropped off her latest collection of flower vessels and each one will look stunning on its own or filled with blooms.

One sold as they were being unpacked yesterday, so do pop in to the gallery if you would like to see this collection before it goes.

We are open on Saturday from 10-4 and Bank Holiday Sunday from 10-1. We look forward to seeing you in our calm and creative space.

Beautiful mosaics by our guest Artist, Denny Dormer, will be on show in Seaglass Gallery in Lympstone throughout May.

We will be open today and tomorrow from 10-4 and on Sunday from 10-1. A warm welcome awaits you in our calm and creative space.

We are 5 minutes from Exmouth and 20 minutes from Exeter by train and are on the Exe Estuary cycle path. Our beautiful waterside location makes us the perfect place to take in art and a sense of peace.

When boats fly in Lympstone!

Do you love dingy racing? If so you’ll be interested in Dawn Jordan’s latest painting of Lympstone. Craning in of the boats took place yesterday and this marks the start of the summer sailing season. A huge crane lifts the boats out of their winter berths in the boat park and back into the River Exe in Devon.

It is a real crowd puller as every year there is a sense of excitement and a coming together of the village community. The dinghies will be arriving soon and racing season will then be underway. As always, there is everything to play for out on the water.

To celebrate summer sailing we are delighted to have one of Dawn Jordan’s latest oil paintings ‘Race Night, Lympstone’ in the gallery. Look out for it in the window if you live locally and are walking past. Hopefully, it will bring some of you happy memories and the fun of remembering the actual race. It’s World Puffin Day today and if you are a fan of these lovely birds we have some cards by Victoria Kirtley that showcase them perfectly. They are a lovely way to brighten someone’s day or pop in a frame to decorate your wall. Victoria uses gold leaf on her paintings and it makes them sparkle in the light in a rather special way.

As well as cards, we have some original paintings by Victoria which feature other birds and wildlife. Pop along to the gallery today and enjoy her wonderful work and spot curlews, avocets, mussels, oysters and lobsters.

The sun is shining here in Lympstone so why not come and explore our lovely village which sits on the bank of the Rive Exe, in Devon. There is a lot to discover along the foreshore and as you wander country lanes.
