Very sad news, Mark Pawson has passed away. He was a regular at ASP Fair since the beginning. A real trooper in the self publishing community. He'll be much missed.

Artists Self-Publisher's' Fair (ASP Fair)

Camden Art Centre, in collaboration with the Artist Self-Publishers’ Fair is delighted to announce: ASP Fair: The Eighth at Conway Hall on the 16th of December 2023. Organised by ASP and Camden Art Centre with generous support from PICPUS Press. Media Partner Tank Magazine.

ASP8 will host 80+ UK and international independent artist self-publishers for a one-day fair. As with past fairs, it will continue to avoid the restrictions and market dominance of much of contemporary arts culture. The publications are the art works; affordable and available, and remain free from the fetter of the institution or gallery, the ideas images and text are produced and published by artists who understand the restrictions and freedoms of the printed page. In addition to those selected by ASP, 10 places are allocated via open submission. The fair will remain free to the artists and the audience alike - 100% of all sales go to the artists.

TLC23 organise and curate site specific visual art and performance events with a focus on trauma, mania and protection within a feminist context, using collective organising and performance as a restorative process.

The fair will be accompanied by music selected by DJ Black Eggs

ASP Fair will again be taking place at Conway Hall, on the 16th December 2023. Organised by ASP and Camden Art Centre with generous support from PICPUS Press & Media Partner Tank Magazine

ASP - SUBMISSIONS - LAST CALL
In addition to those selected by ASP, 10 places will be allocated via open submission. The criteria are as follows:

1. You must be an artist
2. The publication must be self-published
3. The publication must be for sale
4. We ask that the work included in the fair must concentrate on published material, i.e. not just prints or ephemera. While we welcome these as extra items, we ask that you bring your published material as the mainstay of your stall.
Whilst we are not going to attempt to define what that means in terms of what constitutes a book, magazine, booklet, pamphlet etc, we are not a print fair.

If you would like to be considered for a place, you can email detailed images (pdf/jpegs) or your url, please include a full description (number of pages, cost, printing method etc) of your publications to [email protected] for consideration.

The closing date for submissions is 12th November 2023

Despite not receiving funding from Arts Council England for the second year in a row, we continue to bring artists and the public together in a unique space for sharing and connection.
Discover diverse art starting at just a pound, fostering a vibrant community and a true sense of belonging.

Help us reach our £6,000 goal to support crucial fair expenses: payments for our hardworking team, website maintenance, marketing, admin, production costs, hospitality, and artist bursaries.
While we're grateful for backing from PICPUS Press and Camden Art Centre, it only covers venue rent and partial publicity.
With arts funding in London slashed, we're facing a challenging situation, with our partner's support reduced by 55%.

Join us at ASP Fair, celebrating artist self-publishers and their unrestricted creativity. Avoiding the constraints of traditional art institutions, our event showcases affordable, artist-produced publications.
