‘Where does your Work belong?’

I am excited to announce the final line-up for “Overlooked“, an exhibition of artwork by women, finding a space where their work belongs.

Women are overlooked in society, constantly battling the patriarchal notion that women are not central to the function of society and that their labour, in and out of the home, is a given, and therefore completely undervalued.

Private View 6th March (6-9PM)
Open to Public 7th March - 10th March (12-6PM)
The Loop, Hackney Wick
119 Wallis Road, E9 5LN

The series of The Handmaid’s Tales moved me very deeply and sadly enough reflect tendencies in today’s society. In this session I express my feelings about femicide , women rights and the power of women. I will use setup and stills from the series that moved me deeply. In September (19 - 28 ) the exhibition Nasty Women : The Handmaid’s Tale will take place in our Galerie du Nord Amsterdam.
30 international artists , 29 women and 1 man.

The sessions are donation-based with a suggested minimum of 10 euros. Financial challenges should never be a barrier — all are welcome to take part. But do not take part for free without communication.

Poses are inspired by the book and series : The Handmaid’s Tale

Liorin has been a life drawing enthusiast since 2020 after discovering art classes on zoom during lock down & has focused on the softness & strength of women, q***r & femme presenting people.

After Trumps reelection in 2024 & the increasingly fascist UK government, she has used bold red background’s to bring the figures to the fore of her paintings in vibrant alcohol ink & recently added the use of collage. The first painting of the Red Series (working title) she depicted one of her models, Kawena, in a painting titled Goddess of Nope & Body Autonomy. In this pose, Kawena is seated with her face hidden & her arms crossed signifying body autonomy & consent over her image. This relates a female resistance & reclamation of the rights of marginalised genders included in 4th wave feminism of today. We bleed red, we are angry & we are together.

Liorin is one of our ongoing artists within the Nasty Women movement, this piece will be exhibited at Galerie Du Nord, Amsterdam from the 19th-28th September.

Private View: 19th September 2025, 6-9pm đŸ’ȘđŸ»
