We are a creative platform for emerging local talent which bridges the gap between TfL and the community. Employed by London Underground our day time jobs are Duty Manager, Customer Service Assistant and Station Supervisor - we are also practicing artists. Our goal is to uncover a body of local artists and community groups united by common interests and concerns for public awareness and creative a
mbition. Our mission is to discover untapped talent from the local community using art as a medium of communication and feeding a wider dialogue to open up and action new ideas. We will offer support, advice and gallery preparation assistance free of charge to present projects by local people and encourage them to maximise the potential of the space to explore their creative ideas. Having a vibrant space right outside an underground station that is run by its staff is an extension of the travelling customers journey which can now be their 'final destination' rather than the station itself. You are no longer just getting from A to B you are going from A to Fill the Gap looking forward to seeing what London Underground have got on offer today apart from engineering works posters for the weekend and of course 'A good service on all lines'. From only two shows so far a real buzz has been created as the space has been a revelation to local people
who are genuinely excited about it taking a permanent stand on behalf of the Leytonstone community. Generating a feeling of belonging to a growing neighbourhood of innovative people this is a unique space, that will improve the ambience and atmosphere of the underground journey experience as well as nearby cafes and shops. Soon every underground station will want its own personal gallery. By exhibiting at Fill the Gap you will help enrich the area with its positive activity and contribute to its general good by offering a welcoming space run by friendly people giving themselves to the community via your skill, talent and creativity. Don't just be a traveller- become a participator/contributor/interactor who generates ideas and
inspires others. The gallery is currently seeking to promote a changing programme of diverse exhibitions for 2014. For further information- email: [email protected] or phone: 07984 473516
