Mazzoleni

Mazzoleni Welcome! Mazzoleni, located in Torino and London, is a gallery specializing in Modern and Contempora

Mazzoleni was founded in Turin in 1986 by Giovanni and Anna Pia Mazzoleni and opened a Mayfair-based London outpost in October 2014. Over the past three decades Mazzoleni has organised solo and group exhibitions of more than 150 prominent Italian and international artists from across the 20th century. The gallery evolved from the private collection of Giovanni and Anna Pia Mazzoleni who have been

collecting since the 1960s. The collection brought together significant works from important international art movements including Surrealism, Futurism and Abstract Art. Italian Post-War art quickly became the primary focus of the collection and, when Giovanni’s sons Davide and Luigi joined the gallery in the 1990s, soon became the core of Mazzoleni’s curatorial programme. Today the Turin gallery takes up three floors of Palazzo Panizza, overlooking Turin’s historic Piazza Solferino and occupying part of the original 19th century foyer of the Alfieri theatre. The London gallery is situated at 15 Old Bond Street - in the heart of Mayfair’s historic art district - and continues to present a programme focussed on museum-calibre Post-War Italian art and Arte Povera, working in close collaboration with artists’ estates and foundations. In recent years Mazzoleni has been increasingly present at international art fairs, participating across London, Hong Kong and New York, amongst others.

Save the date: Melissa McGill. Watermark

Mazzoleni is pleased to announce Watermark, a solo exhibition by Melissa McGill at Mazzoleni Milan, opening on 16 September 2026.
Bringing together recent and previously unseen works, the exhibition explores water as a living presence, a relational force, and an active participant in the creative process. Among the works on view are watercolours dedicated to the ever-changing colours of the Venetian lagoon, which constitute a fundamental stage in the research that subsequently informed Marea, McGill’s independent and collaborative project presented in Venice during the current Venice Biennale.

Mazzoleni is pleased to share the participation of Rebecca Moccia and Marinella Senatore in the second edition of FORT Biennale, hosted within one of the most significant examples of military architecture in the entire Alpine region. Conceived as a four-part exploration of the concept of togetherness, the exhibition unfolds across the historic spaces of the Forte di Fortezza.
The narrative responds to the urgent challenges of the present, from the intensification of conflicts to the spread of authoritarianism, from the climate emergency to the crisis in human rights, from the opportunities of the digital age to the breakdown of interpersonal relationships. It asserts that another world is not only possible, but already exists.
Reimagining ourselves as part of a single global community, grounded in peaceful relations between humans and in a symbiotic coexistence with all that is other than human, emerges as a necessary condition for collective survival.

David Reimondo is among the artists featured in the exhibition "Di quadro in quadro. L’arte della citazione", curated by Daniela Ferrari at Mart - Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto , until 1 November 2026.

Di quadro in quadro. L’arte della citazione explores the dense and compelling network of references, quotations and reinterpretations that runs throughout modern and contemporary art. It delves into the conceptual core of the artwork as a mental space, in which the viewer’s gaze becomes the true activator of meaning.
The artist presents his sound paintings in a new site specific installation, featuring a series of newly conceived works to be explored.

"Years ago all the salted tears cried by mothers dried on their faces, fell down into the dark streets and rolled around, making a music of sorts, the kind you might hear if the core of the earth burst open and flowers sprang out instead of lava. A strange sound that drowned out the rain and the mountains, the trees and the wind."

The TBG+S Writing Commission expands ideas around writing on art by inviting Irish writers to create a series of texts inspired by the exhibitions at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios

Cathy Sweeney, a short story writer and novelist, is the author of Nostos, a text developed in response to Rebecca Moccia’s exhibition.
