Mazzoleni

Mazzoleni Welcome! Mazzoleni, located in Torino and London, is a gallery specializing in Modern and Contempora

Mazzoleni was founded in Turin in 1986 by Giovanni and Anna Pia Mazzoleni and opened a Mayfair-based London outpost in October 2014. Over the past three decades Mazzoleni has organised solo and group exhibitions of more than 150 prominent Italian and international artists from across the 20th century. The gallery evolved from the private collection of Giovanni and Anna Pia Mazzoleni who have been

collecting since the 1960s. The collection brought together significant works from important international art movements including Surrealism, Futurism and Abstract Art. Italian Post-War art quickly became the primary focus of the collection and, when Giovanni’s sons Davide and Luigi joined the gallery in the 1990s, soon became the core of Mazzoleni’s curatorial programme. Today the Turin gallery takes up three floors of Palazzo Panizza, overlooking Turin’s historic Piazza Solferino and occupying part of the original 19th century foyer of the Alfieri theatre. The London gallery is situated at 15 Old Bond Street - in the heart of Mayfair’s historic art district - and continues to present a programme focussed on museum-calibre Post-War Italian art and Arte Povera, working in close collaboration with artists’ estates and foundations. In recent years Mazzoleni has been increasingly present at international art fairs, participating across London, Hong Kong and New York, amongst others.

Marinella Senatore takes part in Cremona Contemporanea, the city-wide project that engages Cremona’s historical fabric through contemporary artistic practices.
Curated by Rossella Farinotti, Senatore's intervention unfolds across key sites including the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Monastero del Corpus Domini.
Rooted in collective narratives and participatory processes, Senatore’s work activates the space as a site of cultural memory and shared authorship.

As part of the gallery’s 40th anniversary programme and on the occasion of EXPOSED Torino Photo Festival, Mazzoleni presents "Dalla scena al reale. Persistences and Metamorphoses of the Collective Body".
The exhibition brings together works from Italian modernism in dialogue with contemporary practices, exploring the representation of the body, both individual and collective, as a site of continuity and transformation between painting and photography. The display unfolds as a sequence of encounters, in which each pair of works generates a field of visual and conceptual resonance.
Highlights include works by Felice Casorati, Oliviero Toscani, Massimo Campigli, Massimo Vitali, Alberto Savinio and Marinella Senatore.

📍Durante la Biennale, Marinella Senatore presenta We Rise by Lifting Others alle Procuratie Vecchie.

06/04/2026

Mazzoleni congratulates Melissa McGill on the presentation of Marea, taking place from 30 April to 10 May 2026 at Corte Nova, in the Sestiere of Castello, Venice, coinciding with the 61st Venice Biennale.

Says :
"Marea is a collaborative art practice creating a community-focused model of artistic resilience taking place from April 30 to May 10, 2026 in Corte Nova in the Sestiere of Castello, coinciding with the 61st Venice Biennale. Marea is conceived in close collaboration with Corte Nova residents and students, interweaving community voices confronting rising waters and increasingly invasive tourism.
A sea of hand-painted bedsheets will fill the existing laundry lines, recalling the colors and gestures of the Venetian Lagoon and the collective stories and traditions of those who inhabit this street. In a city where tourists drastically outnumber residents, Marea celebrates the authentic vitality of the local community through creative action and multigenerational participation.
Marea is honored to have the patronage of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, the Italian Ambassador to the USA Mariangela Zappia, and the support of the Municipality of Venice. The project is realized via Associazione Water Projects with Venetian cultural advocate Massimiliano Smerghetto, project manager Marcella Ferrari, project assistant Cecilia Bima, and students from Università IUAV, the Andrea Barbarigo Institute, and Università Internazionale dell’Arte (UIA). 🌊🌊🌊"
