EOA.PROJECTS

EOA.PROJECTS EOA.Projects was established in 2011 as a production and career development platform for Edge of Ara

In 2012, Edge of Arabia opened a 400 sq m, state of the art exhibition space next to the Royal College of Art in Battersea, South West London. Situated in a converted ice storage warehouse, the gallery boasts 4 metre ceilings, large windows to the main street, museum lighting and flexible wall solutions ideal for installation and video presentations. The Edge of Arabia Gallery has a regular program

me of Middle East focused exhibitions, film screenings and educational events. The space is also available to rent for special events which correspond with our values and programming. Edge of Arabia shares the Office and Gallery space with its sister organisation The Crossway Foundation, and is part of a unique community of local creative industry pioneers including Vivienne Westwood, All Design, Squint Opera, The Doodle Bar and Foster + Partners. The gallery is also closely situated to galleries and museums in the Chelsea area including Saatchi Gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum. Over the next five years, Battrersea is set to become one of the most culturally and economically transformed areas of London; after 25 years as an empty shell, Battersea Power Station is being redeveloped as part of a £6bn real estate project, one of the largest in Europe and in 2016, the American Embassy will relocate to Battersea. In 2019 the area will get its first London Underground link, with it bringing scores of new visitors, shops, galleries, hotels and offices. Edge of Arabia Gallery is set to benefit from this exciting transformation and looks forward to adding value to the local area as these developments unfold.

Watch this short film 'Little Syria' by Husam Al Sayed featuring Brian Zegeer.

Brian Zegeer, artist and resident of Queens Museum explores the vanished Arabic enclave in lower Manhattan and the center of Levantine immigrant life from the late 1800's through the 1940's through the lens of Ameen Rahani's Book of Khaled, the first Arab-American novel recounting the adventures of two young men from Lebanon seeking their fortune in turn-of-the-century New York. The Book of Khaled is illustrated by Rahani's close friend Khalil Gibran and was an inspiration for his famous book, The Prophet.
