In his manifesto of the Independent Labor Party, Dr. Ambedkar had highlighted his meaningful program. While strengthening the economy of the country, the distribution of revenue should be at the central and state level as well as the program of bringing additional manpower in the agricultural sector to the industrial sector while the country was undergoing industrial development was underlined. It also considered grass sellers. On behalf of the Independent Labor Party, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was contesting from Central Mumbai (E and F Ward). Dr. Ambedkar's election symbol was "man". Elections were held on February 17, 1937. The results came on 24th February 1937 and Dr. Ambedkar was elected by a huge margin.

"बाबासाहेबांना होती क्रॉकरीजची आवड, कलकत्‍याहुन मागवायचे हिलसा मासळी"

डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर हे नाव उच्‍चारल्‍याबरोबर कोट-टाय-बुट असे ड्रेसअप केलेले राजबिंडे व्‍यक्‍तीमत्‍व आपल्‍या डोळ्यासमोर उभे राहते. बाबासाहेबांचे तारुण्‍य शिक्षणानिमित्‍त पाश्‍चात्‍य देशात गेले. त्‍यांना तेथील राहणीमान-खाणपानाची पध्‍दत आवडत असे. किंबहूना तो त्‍यांच्‍या व्‍यक्तीमत्‍वाचा भाग बनला होता.


इंग्‍लंड-अमेरिकेत बराच काळ गेल्‍यामुळे बाबासाहेबांच्‍या दिनचर्येतही त्‍याची झलक पाहायला मिळायची. त्‍यांना 'बेडी टी' लागायचा, तोही इंग्रजी पध्‍दतीचा. उकळलेला चहा, दूध व साखर हे वेगवेगळ्या भांडयात आवडीनुसार ते घ्‍यायचे. असा त्‍यांचा दिवसाचा पहिला चहा असायचा. हे सर्व त्‍यांना साग्रसंगीत लागायचे. चहाचा ट्रे त्‍यांच्‍या बेडरुममध्‍ये आणून त्‍यांना चहा दिला जात होता.

क्रॉकरीची होती विशेष आवड:👇

- बाबासाहेबांना जेवणाची जशी आवड होती त्‍याचप्रकारे चहा, कॉफीसाठी निरनिराळ्या प्रकारचे क्रॉकरीचे संच (crockery set) त्‍यांना आवडायचे.

- डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकरांची मसूदा समितीच्‍या अध्‍यक्षपदी निवड झाल्‍यानंतर त्‍यांचे वास्‍तव्‍य दिल्‍लीतच सर्वाधिक राहात होते. '1, हार्डींग्‍ज अॅव्‍हेन्‍यू (1, Hardings Avenue), नवी दिल्‍ली' या सरकारी बंगल्‍यात तेव्‍हा ते वास्‍तव्‍याला होते.

- बाबासाहेबांच्‍या घरी चहासाठी चहाचाच क्रॉकरी सेट आणि कॉफीसाठी कॉफीचाच सेट वापरला जायचा.
त्‍यांच्‍या '1, हार्डिंग्‍ज अॅव्‍हेन्‍यू' बंगल्‍यावर विविध प्रकारचे सेट्स होते.

- ब्रेकफास्‍ट, लंच आणि डिनर यासाठीही वेगवेगळे सेट्स ते वापरायला सांगत. एवढेच नाही तर विविध समारंभांप्रसंगी वेगवेगळे सेट्स वापरण्‍याच्‍या त्‍यांच्‍या सूचना असत.

- डायनिंग टेबलवर प्‍लेट्स, काटे, चमचे व इतर भांडी अगदी विशिष्‍ट पध्‍दतीने व सर्व्हिसप्रमाणे असाव्‍या, असा बाबासाहेबांचा आग्रह असे.

- पाश्चिमात्‍य देशात त्‍यांचे तारुण्‍य गेल्‍याने तेथील टापटिप व निटनिटकेपणा त्‍यांच्‍या मनावर बिंबली होती.

Does the analogy given to the workers by Babasaheb apply today?

In 1954, Babasaheb was staying at Mera Bela Hotel near Marine Line in Mumbai and was undergoing treatment for about two months. At that time, Bhaurao Gaikwad had held a meeting at Deolali. In the meeting, Gaikwad's activists criticized RR Bhole. When Babasaheb heard this news from PT Madhale, he became very angry and in a fit of rage he likened the activists to 'Majlelya Redya'.

Balwantrao Varale has written that incident. After hearing all the facts of Deolali from Mr. Madhale, Babasaheb said to me, A true social worker should not go on a diet of greatness but should be ready to serve the society only as a religion of service.

If our workers start fighting with each other due to discrimination among themselves, the result will be very bad. If today's workers feel egoistic about their own greatness, it is very dangerous. It is a kind of madness that has arisen in the mind. It would be appropriate to liken such activists to the reeds left as bulls for the fair of Mary. The reeds left in the village are very popular in a couple of years, because there is no restriction on them. They are roaming freely in the camp or elsewhere. They think it will take.

After slaughtering the bull left to Mary's mother, he pushes his horns in the dirt or in the dirt and blows dirt on his own body with his own horns. In the same way, these workers are imitating the same bull and blowing dirt on their own bodies. They are imitating the same Reddy. Reda, who is in the open air, has no idea what will happen to her in the future. She has no idea that she will be slaughtered at Mary's fair in a few days. But unfortunately, she will be slaughtered in the future. Nothing is going to happen.

The people will not tolerate this act of arbitrariness and dishonesty of the society at all. I believe that the people will not survive without sacrificing such activists one day. "Babasaheb was twisting his heart and talking like this with immense compassion for the society. He was suffering. But he was not paying attention to it. The analogy of Reddy given by Babasaheb to the activists was very meaningful.
