This April is our 20 year anniversary! 💐
To mark this ✨special✨ occasion we’ve asked our wonderful interns, freelancers, staff, parents and participants all about their favourite Artburst memories. 💕
Today we have a lovely submission from Hanifa Hussain who's conection with Artburst spans over a decade. Here is what Hanifa had to say about her time with us:
"I’m Hanifa, I am currently working in a daycare but I also freelance with Artburst. I am coming up to my third year working with artburst. My connection with Artburst spans more than a decade. As a child, I attended their workshops, not knowing how much those early creative moments would shape me.
At the age of 18, I returned as an intern. This time seeing the work from the inside, helping to create the same inspiring environments I once loved. After my internship, stepping into freelance work with them felt like a natural progression. Looking back, it feels like a full-circle journey: from participant to intern to freelancer. Artburst has been a constant thread in my life, guiding my growth and reminding me why creativity matters.
Artburst has given me many opportunities to grow. Allowing me to thrive in what I’m good at and what I enjoy doing. One of my favourite memories with Artburst would probably be helping out in the office with prepping workshop materials and editing videos on premiere pro. Artburst has allowed me to take part in many different projects and training to help me further develop. My favourite was being able to go to the Lego headquarters. I had the opportunity to experience something that not a lot of people get to experience. I also really enjoyed the workshop we did at old palace primary school during Easter. It was nice to come back and run a workshop in the primary school I used to attend."
