MARKFIELD BEAM ENGINE MUSEUM 🏭 2025 OPEN DAYS

Step back in time and discover Tottenham's hidden Victorian heritage! Our magnificent 1888 steam-powered beam engine is a masterpiece of engineering that once served the area's vital public health needs.

🎟️ ADMISSION IS FREE!

🗓️ We're open on select Sundays throughout 2025! Swipe through the images to see all our Open Days and Steaming Days when you can see this impressive machine in action.

⏰ Opening hours:
Regular open days: 10am-3:30pm
Steaming days: 10am-4pm
Engine runs 12:30-1:15pm and 2:30-3:15pm

🚆 Getting here is easy:
South Tottenham station (10 mins walk)
Seven Sisters station (15 mins walk)
Tottenham Hale station (20 mins walk)

Perfect for families and budding engineers!
Run entirely by volunteers.

Recent work at Markfield Beam Engine has uncovered significant issues. The supports for the walkway in the basement have been badly corroded.

The images show the extent of corrosion. The basement is now completely closed to the public whilst we look for solutions.

We are very grateful to our volunteers who spotted this issue 💪🔧

If you are able to support in any way we would be extremely grateful. Your generous donations make it possible for our dedicated team of volunteers to open the museum, run and care for the engine. You can donate via our website - link in bio.
