A central part of Bill Chalmers’ practice is the construction of bespoke canvas stretchers, which he makes to fit the exact object he is painting. Through these constructed canvases and frames, Chalmers creates surreal works that blur the boundary between object and image, absorbing the viewer into an altered sense of space.

Open House continues at Ubicua Gallery.

We are pleased to present a second private viewing of Open House, the first solo exhibition by London-based artist Bill Chalmers.

Friday 15 May, 6-8pm
RSVP: [email protected]

The exhibition explores the home as a constructed and performative space, shaped by architecture, routine, and the everyday objects that occupy it. Through depictions of domestic interiors and subtle, staged gestures, Chalmers examines how spaces absorb presence, memory, and meaning over time.

As we begin 2026, a brief recap of 2025 — the people behind the gallery.

We’re a mother-and-daughter team, focused on supporting the artists we believe in and growing this space in London.

Thank you to the incredible artists who trusted us with their work, and to everyone who visited, shared, collected, and followed along. On to 2026.
