Global Private Museum Network

Global Private Museum Network The only network of private contemporary art museums around the world - bringing them together and sharing information about their work and ambitions.

The Global Private Museum Network has been founded to support and network private museums of contemporary art, both with each other, with other relevant institutions and agencies, including the bodies that represent major public museums in the west – and with the widest global public. It hosts twice a year a Global Private Museum Summit; the next one will take place in Shanghai on 21st November 20

15. The network has 18 private museums owners as founding members, across 12 countries in 17 cities throughout Asia, Europe, the US, Latin America, and the Middle East. The network will respond to the developing needs of its members, which may involve brokering relationships with major public museums, fundraising, touring exhibitions, growing the audience at members' museums, sharing curatorial and other expertise. The long-term ambition is to place private museums at the heart of the contemporary art world and to secure for its members recognition of their key role in not simply showcasing but defining what counts as the art of our time.
