Available at Andipa, this Roman marble torso (1st–2nd century AD) embodies the timeless elegance of the contrapposto pose, drawing inspiration from celebrated Greek originals now lost to history. Adopting a refined pose with his weight bearing down on his right leg, this exquisite torso probably belongs to a heroic athlete or warrior. A slightly twisted shoulder and softly modelled body highlight the subtly of the carver’s skill, while the pose suggests their deep-rooted knowledge of the principles of Classical art.

Both the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the British Museum in London (which respectively hold two of the world’s most important collections of Classical sculpture) have parallel examples of carved Roman marble torsos. Like ours, they are missing their arms, legs and heads, but the evocative musculature, supple carving and confident poses all illustrate the immense adroitness of each statue’s carver’s craft – and a high point of Roman art.

‘Arachidyl Alcohol’ (2014) is a small, self-possessed painting by Damien Hirst. Painted with household gloss on canvas, its smooth, reflective skin catches the light and lends the work a quiet, almost industrial elegance, softened by its intimate scale. The title, drawn from chemical language, gently echoes Hirst’s long-standing interest in science and systems of order.

Available at Andipa.

‘Negative’ (1995) by Mark Francis is a monumental oil on canvas that exemplifies the artist’s fascination with invisible systems, biological structures, and scientific imagery. Measuring an impressive 213 × 244 cm, Francis transforms scientific observation into abstraction, creating a visual language in which the boundaries between biology, physics, and imagination dissolve.

Available at Andipa, where we would be delighted to welcome you and share this work in person.

In ‘Kids on Guns’, masterfully presents a stark visual paradox: the mural portrays a little boy and girl playing innocently, their silhouettes reminiscent of carefree childhood joy. Yet, stand upon a mound of powerful weapons, an unmistakable symbol of destruction and danger. This powerful juxtaposition forces us to contemplate the role the world plays in exposing youth to the influence of violence and weaponry. Available at Andipa, we’d be delighted to show you this powerful work in person.

First appearing on the back door of the iconic Egyptian Theater during the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, Banksy’s ‘3D Rat’ arrived alongside a series of street works promoting the premiere of Exit Through the Gift Shop.

Featuring the artist’s signature rat motif, 3D Rat with Glasses and Fly plays with illusion and depth through anaglyph-style 3D glasses, as flies appear to burst beyond the frame itself. Both playful and provocative, the work reflects Banksy’s ongoing dialogue between street art, spectacle, and public attention. Most recently, it featured in Andipa’s ‘London to Athens’ exhibition which included seven striking works by Banksy: four paintings and three prints. As dedicated Banksy specialists, we would be delighted to assist you in starting, building or refining your collection.
