We preserve the heritage and tell the stories of the Glyn Valley Tramway & the industries of the Ceiriog Valley it once served. Entrance is FREE.
Our museum visitor centre is located in Glyn Ceiriog, NE Wales. We are the successor organisation to the Glyn Valley Tramway Group. We care for and display a large and expanding collection of items associated with the former Glyn Valley Tramway and the industries of the Ceiriog Valley that the tramway served from 1873 until its closure in 1935. Our museum visitor centre is established in the origi
nal Glyn Valley Tramway engine shed at Glyn Ceiriog and on a substantial part of the adjacent former station site and nearby coal wharf. We're open from 10am until 4pm every Saturday throughout the year (except the one immediately before and the one immediately after Christmas Day), every Bank Holiday Monday, and also every Wednesday in July and August. Donations are invited. On-site parking, impaired mobility access and toilet facilities are available.

It's another Bank Holiday Weekend on the way, our museum based in the Old Tramway Engine Shed at Glyn will be open tomorrow (Saturday) and on Monday, 10am to 4pm both days.
The museum collection includes a wide range of artefacts recovered from tramway, quarries and other long-closed industrial sites up and down the Ceiriog Valley, all recorded and interpreted for visitors.

Our promotion stand attracted plenty of interest at the Llangollen Garden Railway Festival on Saturday with a selection of GVT models, sales items and photos from our museum collections on display.

Our Museum at Glyn Ceiriog is open today (Saturday) until 4pm. It's been another productive week in the station yard with 20 tons of ballast being spread around the new trackwork.
Looking good! The final track panel of our demonstration running line was laid in today. Fantastic work by our volunteer Thursday per-way gang H, Pete, Mal and Matt L this week.
Tracklaying in the station yard at Glyn Ceiriog is continuing over winter as weather permits. The switch point adjacent our entrance gate is now in situ.
Next up the short headshunt down to the crane, and then the spur connection to the Engine Shed.

The popularity of modelling the Glyn Valley Tramway is growing, particularly in 4mm to 1ft scale running on 9mm gauge track, otherwise known as '00-9'.
