Weaving from across the world that demonstrates the beauty and power of nature is the focus of a superb new free exhibition at Linlithgow Burgh Halls.

The Natural World - In Carpets and Rugs features a variety of hand-woven textiles featuring plants, Animals and the natural environment as inspiration for tribal, village and city weavings from Iran to Afghanistan.

Weaving is among the oldest of all human crafts, and was once an important industry in West Lothian towns, such as Bathgate and Whitburn.

On display at The Gallery at Linlithgow Burgh Halls from Friday 25 October until Sunday 26 January 2025 will be various knotted rugs, flat weaves known as kilims and a remarkable and rare nomadic reed screen.

Such a good night at our Abba Tribute 😁 Thanks to everyone who joined us!

Over the last few months we have had the pleasure of working with Brodie Grose, who is a Foundation Apprentice currently studying Creative and Digital Media. Brodie produced a video to promote the current exhibition entitled An Rubha The Point Series by James Lumsden. As you can see from the short video Brodie has done a good job in interviewing the artist and getting some insight to the exhibition. Everyone at Linlithgow Burgh Halls would like to wish Brodie all the best in his studies.

Absolutely loved celebrating the wedding of Lynne and Gordon, Mr & Mrs Taylor, on Thursday evening. To start the party off it was fantastic to see Kyle and Megan again from Singers Secreto, everyone was on their feet ! 😍🎵🎶🎉
