Our Art History Autumn Programme begins next month, and tickets are now available to pre-book.

Join us in the main gallery at Northlight for a series of fascinating two-hour talks led by art historians, academics, researchers and practising artists, exploring the people, ideas and stories that have shaped art across centuries and cultures.

This autumn we’ll be travelling from the Northern Renaissance to twentieth-century Mexico, exploring painting and memory, Anglo-Saxon connections with the Silk Roads, and the work of major artists including Jan van Eyck, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Beatriz González and Maurice de Sausmarez.

What a brilliant first day of the Chapel Allerton Artists Art Trail at Northlight!

It’s been wonderful seeing the building full of people exploring the work, chatting to the artists and discovering just how much creativity there is here in Chapel Allerton.

A huge thank you to everyone who came through our doors today, took time to look, talk and listen, and supported local artists by buying their work. Days like this are as much about the conversations and connections as they are about the art.

And we get to do it all again tomorrow!

Northlight is open Sunday, 11am–5pm, with four local artists exhibiting across our gallery and conservatory, with paintings, prints, jewellery, handmade books and more to discover.
Amanda Burton - Wire Moon
Lydia Rain
Catherine Aldred Illustrator
Jude Eldridge

If you’re following the Chapel Allerton Art Trail, make sure Northlight is one of your stops. Come in, have a wander, have a coffee, take a break in our garden, and meet the artists behind all the wonderful work you’ll discover.

A huge thank you to Davindermadaher for a truly lovely workshop, and to everyone who joined us.

Today Northlight was filled with the gentle scent of fresh flowers and tables bursting with colour as we welcomed Davinder for our watercolour florals workshop.

Davinder guided everyone through creating loose, expressive botanical paintings sharing lots of techniques, encouragement and plenty of individual support along the way.

What a glorious way to spend a Saturday: painting, experimenting, chatting and enjoying being creative together.

Davinder will be back in the Autumn with more painting workshops - we can’t wait to welcome him again.
