It’s been a busy few weeks at Northlight with so much going on that we’ve had little time to share it all with you here. One of the highlights recently was hosting the Ascendance Away Day.

The day focussed on movement, drawing and creative exploration, with the Ascendance team spending time reflecting, planning and generating ideas for the year ahead.

A workshop led by our Creative Director Boris Cruse soon had everyone up on their feet, collaborating, choreographing, making marks and discovering new creative ways of working together.

We find food always brings people together, and our homemade buffet lunch provided a much-needed break with time to chat, recharge and refuel before the afternoon session.

A huge thank you to the Ascendance team for choosing us to host their away day. We had a wonderful time with you all and look forward to seeing where the ideas and plans from the day take you over the coming year.

A full house tonight for our screening of 100 Years of Ulysses by Ruan Magan and Frank Callanan in collaboration with Irish Arts Foundation as part of the Bloomsday celebrations.

Every seat in the house is taken, with standing room only. An audience from all across the city have gathered at Northlight tonight to celebrate the life, work and legacy of James Joyce through film, music and shared cultural experience.

We’re incredibly proud to be part of an event that celebrates Irish arts, culture, literature and community, and to see so many people come together for this special evening. A celebration also marking a milestone for the much loved organisation Irish Arts Foundation.

A huge thank you to everyone who has joined us. The night continues after the film with live traditional Irish music from Des Hurley and friends - what a perfect way to round off a wonderful evening.

Our mission is to remove barriers to making art so everyone can feel the benefits of creativity.

Our community art trolley is stocked entirely with shared materials that anyone can use during our creative sessions or in fact anytime they visit Northlight.

If you have unwanted art and craft supplies gathering dust at home, we’d love to give them a second life.

Paints, brushes, pens, paper, sketchbooks, inks, charcoal, collage materials and more are always welcome.

Drop donations off at Northlight during opening hours.

Less waste and more creativity. More people making.

Join us at Northlight Arts Centre this Bank Holiday Saturday for a full day of music, food, sunshine and good people

We’ll be starting the afternoon with Open Decks before things move into the evening with our residents and special guests playing house, vinyl-only sets and a few 90s classics along the way. With Darren Vega & Redux from .known.society

Open Decks: 3:30PM – 8:30PM
10 x 30 minute DJ slots available

From 8:30PM until late
OD residents + guests taking over for the evening

Grilled cheese melts
Terrace DJs playing chilled daytime tunes
Free entry all day

SUMMER MARKET — OPEN CALL

We’re looking for artists, makers, designers and creatives to join our next curated Summer Market at Northlight.

We welcome applications from illustrators, ceramicists, jewellers, printmakers, textile artists, painters, homeware brands and independent makers creating thoughtful, high quality work.

Our markets focus on a vibrant welcoming atmosphere alongside carefully curated stalls, good coffee, conversation and a genuine love of handmade and independent work.
