Kenilworth History & Archaeology Society The promotion of members’ and public interest in the the history and archaeology of the Kenilworth area. Meetings:

These are normally held monthly.

Membership:

This is open to all who are interested in the objective of the Society, subject to an approved application. Membership shall lapse if the subscription remains unpaid three months after it is due, and may be terminated in any particular case by a resolution of the Committee. The membership fees for 2015 are £10 per annum per person, £15 per couple, which entitles the member(s) to a fr

ee copy of ‘Kenilworth History’, published annually. Associate Membership:

This is available to anyone under 18 years of age, students and representatives of school historical groups or societies. Such Associate Members shall comply with the conditions relating to Members of the Society, and enjoy the same rights and privileges. Honorary Membership:

This may be granted by the Committee on such terms and for such period as the Committee shall decide in each case. All are welcome, and the Society would be grateful for any donation from non-members. KHAS is a registered charity in England & Wales (no. 1215410). Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

Our next meeting will be on Monday, 8th June at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start at the Senior Citizens Club, Abbey End car park.

Our speaker will be Julian Davey. Julian will be talking on the Curious History of the Conways.
Members free, visitors welcome: £2.00

This will be our last meeting before the Summer outings to Broughton Castle and St Mary’s Guildhall.

Sadly, the Abbey Museum is still closed while we wait to be reconnected to the electricity supply. We are still offering free tours of the abbey ruins however, using the KR app. These are on Sunday afternoons from 2.30pm.

Our speaker will be Anne Langley who will be talking on “Researching and/or Writing the History of your Community”.
Anne will also be bringing some of her publications to sell.

The ‘Barn’ museum is still closed while we wait for the necessary consents to allow the new electricity supply to be connected. However, will be running tours of the abbey ruins using the Kenilworth Revealed app, Sunday afternoons from 2.30pm

At our next meeting, Tony Merrygold will be talking on ‘Daimler – Basic Engineering to Badge Engineering’. The Story of Daimler in the UK from the birth of the British Motor Industry to the 1960s when they were taken over by Jaguar Cars.

This will be on a Monday, 9th March at 7.00pm for a 7.45pm start at the Senior Citizens Club, Abbey End car park.
Members free, visitors welcome, £2

We will be looking for volunteers for the museum and, if you have paid your subscription, make sure you have picked up your free copy of Kenilworth History 2026.

You can also book for our outings to Broughton Castle, Banbury in July and St Mary’s Guildhall, Coventry in August. These are initially for members only. Payments for these can also be made on the night or by bank transfer.
