Departure times for Saturdays Bowness on Windermere trip are as shown on the poster.
We once again have a completely full coach.

If you are booked to travel with us on this occasion, but for whatever reason can’t make it, please let us know asap - we don’t want the coach driver waiting for ‘no-shows’ at pick up points - which has happened recently.
Many thanks - see you Saturday !

For those not onboard this week please see Great days out by luxury coach from Nottingham for lots more great adventures with upto 6 hours freetime at your destination 👍

Following the fantastic success of this years event we are back on two dates next year. The first will once again be Father’s Day June 15th 2025 and the second date will be announced later.
Our aim is to involve more heritage and tourism attractions in the area to generate a true transport and heritage themed event throughout the Derbyshire Dales. With the team at Peak Rail offering us the use of the site we aim to develop the event further.
It’s never too early to get your bookings in which will be confirmed again nearer the time.
Thankyou once again to all who visited or were part of the event this year …. We hope to see you again next time !

Well we have had an absolutely fantastic day and wish to thank everyone for your support towards the Charity and our Derbyshire Dales event. We hope we’ve brought in extra patronage for Peak Rail and other attractions on our bus route network.
The event wouldn’t happen without the stall holders and vehicle owners so Welldone all - you’ve made today’s event.
Our aim to keep all our events open to all - no barrier to entry and no admissions works for all. Your gratitude is shown by way of donation and support towards our fundraising efforts.
Next year we will be back BUT with two events and we will be working with other heritage and tourism attractions in the area.
Welldone everyone for celebrating our transport heritage in such an enjoyable manner and making the event what it was. 👍

Great progress on projects this week. New belts on 769, alternator pulley and belts on 127 and all external lights re connected and working correctly. Oil leak rectified with new pipe fitted. Bonnet removed itself on 676 so that’s now on the list of things to do ! Buses washed in the storage site and weeds removed from boundaries.
It’s onto the task of returning Atlantean 433 to the road shortly with a gearbox replacement and then onto new injectors and an oil change on single deck Atlantean 55. New glass has arrived for other projects too !
It’s great to have so much ongoing.

It’s now time to announce the latest addition to one of our members!

Ex Midland Red 602 NOE602R joins two other Nationals in the NHVC collection. Now, you are probably wondering about the relevance to the collection - there isn’t any but Adam likes Nationals.

You will get to see 602 in the flesh at our Derbyshire Dales Bus & Train Festival this Sunday 16th June. She’s a bit rough around the edges body wise but then again she hasn’t been painted since she left Stagecoach over twenty years ago!

Are you joining us this Sunday ?

With an expected turnout of 49 vehicles and a 44 journey working free bus timetable it looks to be a great day ahead.

With the kind permission of DFS at Darley Dale (you can’t miss their massive DFS sign at the side of the A6), we are able to offer a free park and ride service direct to the event. There will be disabled parking and parking for those wishing to visit the railway onsite but with the event developing in scale and to avoid access issues through inconsiderate parking we are trying this for this year.

We are also pleased to welcome the opportunity from the Devonshire Group to allow some of our routes to serve Chatsworth House directly. This provides visitors with the chance to explore this fantastic setting along with the attractions elsewhere such as Haddon Hall, Bakewell and Darley Dale on other routes. A full timetable is shown below.

We can’t wait for our fantastic event in the Derbyshire Dales on Father’s Day June 16th.

With a 7 train operating timetable expected to be in use using a steam Loco and the DMU on the railway and many stalls in attendance it’s looking very good.

We will have several services running to Darley Dale, Edensor, Pilsley, Peak shopping village, Haddon Hall, through the Chatsworth estate to Chatsworth House and to Bakewell - visitors are in for a real treat. It’s by no means a static event !

For vehicle owners not yet booked to attend please feel free to message us - we welcome your involvement be it static or available for a free bus run. There is plenty of room for all - we just ask that you let us know you are coming along. This is a true family orientated event for all.

Come along, enjoy a little nostalgia, a train ride - where accompanied children travel for free too and above all enjoy yourself.

We have numerous stall holders onsite providing a good selection of transport books, models and spare parts. The excellent station cafe will be providing refreshments throughout the day and naturally the free bus services provide plenty of scope to enjoy time in the surrounding towns and villages.

We look forward to seeing you all and welcoming further entries.

Note - If you wish to treat dad this Father’s Day to the whisky train experience please visit the Peak Rail website to book - they have plenty of capacity 😊

We look forward to many years ahead, developing this event into one of the country’s largest gatherings of preserved PSV’s and classic vehicles and appreciate the opportunity Peak Rail have provided us with through our collaboration.

The event runs from 1000 onwards with the last train from Rowsley at 1600 to Matlock and the last bus to the park and ride at 1610.

Simply message us if you wish to attend with your vehicle.

Another fantastic announcement and great to be working with the full support of the Devonshire Group and Chatsworth House. Heritage Vehicles from our event will now be linking directly with the main bus stand at Chatsworth providing visitors to the area another great venue to explore. Likewise it gives visitors to the main Chatsworth site the opportunity to enjoy a free vintage bus journey too.

We are also extremely grateful to The Sofa delivery company and DFS for the exclusive use of their two overspill car parks at the main DFS Darley Dale superstore site for our free park and ride bus shuttle service. Through this we have created so much more usable space onsite enabling development of the event. Thankyou !

We can’t wait for our fantastic event in the Derbyshire Dales on Father’s Day June 16th.
With car parking and a free shuttle service from the DFS mill car park at Darley Dale we have even more space than ever at the Peak Rail Rowsley South site for exhibitors. Disabled parking is onsite along with parking for the Whisky train experience.

With over 45 buses and coaches already booked to attend, many operating free services throughout the day, a 7 train operating timetable using a steam
Loco and the DMU on the railway and many stalls in attendance it’s looking very good.

Well it’s been a busy but very enjoyable weekend. With our fundraising coach trip to Shrewsbury & Ludlow Saturday followed by a visit to the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust today in Liverpool, it has been non stop. Great to see such support for our efforts and fantastic to be able to raise very useful funds for the Charity. Please follow our Great days out by luxury coach from Nottingham page for all the news on upcoming day trip outings. Here are a few images from the weekend.

What a tremendous support our volunteers are offering the Charity through their efforts in fundraising 👏

What a tremendous support our volunteers are offering the Charity through their efforts in fundraising 👏

Lots of our days out are now either full or not too far off, so we must thank all those who join us for their support towards our charity fundraising efforts.

Please keep an eye on our page and check back regularly as we are constantly looking to add new outings into our plans. If you have only just found us then don’t worry as there will be a full list of all remaining trip places published early next week - but for now if somethings caught your eye please drop us a message as we may just have enough seats left to accommodate you.

Tomorrow we’re off to Shrewsbury and onto Ludlow. Two delightful towns rich in history and heritage with a good variety of attractions and sights to entertain all. Three seats remain if you wish to join us following the allocation of a larger coach.

A massive Thankyou to all of you that supported our openday yesterday. Our next event will be on Father’s Day as we venture to the Rowsley South station of Peak Rail to host the Derbyshire Dales Bus and Train festival.
With free bus rides through the Chatsworth Estate and to Bakewell, Pilsley and Darley Dale, onboard buses and coaches of all ages, it’s sure to be popular.

We have lots of vehicles attending, some static and some in use but welcome additional bus & coach entries. Public admission to the event is completely free as are the bus rides and with the fantastic child free with a paying adult offer on the railway it makes for a great day out.

This Bank Holiday Monday is our Sweden comes to Hucknall event, a Volvo & Scania running day. It was our intention to have up to eight visiting vehicles on regular runs, however owing to vehicle failures and work commitments several owners have now advised they won't be able to attend. The event will still go ahead with three visiting vehicles as detailed below:

M202LHP, Volvo B10M Alexander PS, Stagecoach (In service)
M793PRS, Volvo B10M Alexander PS, DW Coaches (In service)
FH05TKK, Scania L94UB Wright Solar, Trentbarton (Static)

If you would like to be part of this event with your own Volvo or Scania please get in touch.

We also have a couple of non Volvo & Scania visitors, one being OVL473 a Bristol Lodekka originally operated by Lincolnshire Road Car. Subject to footfall we will also be using vehicles from our own fleet. In addition, the event will feature a book sale and we also have many new diecast models in stock.
