Resurrecting my social media presence... can't believe it's been so long since I shared anything. Never stopped painting for a moment but actually doing anything with it has totally fallen by the wayside. So if anyone wondered what I'd been up to, here is a little experiment combining pan pastel, polychromos and pitt pastel pencils. It's much harder to put oil based pencil over pastel than I'd thought...

So... in preparation for setting up an online business, I'm sharing some personalised art for the next few days... really like being able to experiment with design and the challenge of mixing typography and art. ( Commissions accepted if you would like anything similar, just let me know!).

I was looking through some sketchbooks to find a painting I'd started but not finished, and found this one tucked away... I'd completely forgotten I'd painted it! So thought I'd share with you my attempt to be a bit more colourful!

And another large format oil painting for you. This one took several repaints before I was finally happy with it, but I still can't decide on a title for it. Suggestions gratefully recieved!

Forgive the horribly angled photograph. Some of you may recognise this one having seen it develop over the course of the covid lockdown (as it was behind me when I was on Zoom!) So for those of you who asked... here is the finished painting. Oil on canvas, "Stickle Tarn".

To end the month of paintings, I wanted to finish back where it all began. I loved a certain painting on the front of a notebook when I was a teenager, and looked everywhere to find a poster of it... with no luck (it was pre Internet shopping after all). So I decided if I wanted this painting on the wall, I would have to paint it myself. This is my 2nd ever oil painting on unprimed hardboard (I had no idea what I was doing back then, my first painting was done on the shiny side of hardboard and I had terrible trouble getting the paint to dry! So this was done on the more absorbant side and was much more successful!). Obviously a copy of another artist's work, but it was only ever intended for myself, and it sparked my love for painting, and oils in particular. I hope you like it.

For the penultimate day of this challenge, the painting I am most proud of, and one that probably took the longest to finish... about 6 years - because i was so pleased with the figures, I didn't want to ruin them with the background so procrastinatedabout it for a very long time indeed!). Oil on canvas
