River & Rowing Museum

River & Rowing Museum The museum, shop and café are now closed to the public. Visit www.rrm.co.uk for contact details.

The River & Rowing Museum inspires escape and exploration in a beautiful riverside location in Henley on Thames. The home of the enchanting 3D Wind in the Willows story exhibition with lights, sound and interactives, the Museum also celebrates the richness of the wildlife that calls the riverbank its home. Further galleries celebrate the work of local Modern British artist John Piper (in the UK's

only gallery dedicated to his work), tell the story of Henley and, of course, the history of the sport of rowing.

Although our museum doors are closed, our passion for education is very much alive and we’re excited to let you know that school visits will continue!

The museum will be ‘Flowing Forward’ and continuing to deliver hands-on workshops in Henley on Thames. We’re excited to continue working with schools and to carry on doing what we love!

The day will be split into three parts:

- hands-on river workshop consisting of experiments, activities and object handling
- guided river walks
- a brand-new river wildlife and museum object session

The cost will be £11+VAT per pupil (minimum charges apply) including a goody bag for each child if booked before Friday 24th October.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On a personal note, I would like to thank each and every one of you for following, reacting, sharing and commenting on our social media posts over the last three-and-a-half years.
It's been an absolute pleasure to share a slice of museum life with you, as well as having the privilege to work in such a beautiful location by the river in Henley.
Your support for, and memories of, the museum since the closure was announced has been very much appreciated by me, and the rest of the team. Like you, I will be following what might happen next with interest.
Take care everyone, look after yourselves and each other, and most importantly, keep visiting your local independent museums, art galleries, music venues, and businesses, so that they remain open for future generations to enjoy.
Over and out.
Paul x
