Colleen is a Sussex-based landscape artist who taught Art for 34 years before retiring in 2020 to focus on her own work.

She paints natural and cultivated landscapes, celebrating both wildness and the human presence in fields, hedgerows, and old roads.

Seasonal changes in colours, light, and forms, have a cyclical influence on Colleen’s choice of subject be it the coast, the Downs, woodland, or rivers.

She paints with energetic, directionalbrushstrokes and her evocative paintings are characterized by their distinctive quality of light.
