🌀 THIS SUNDAY! Book your slot to be sure of a place.

We are thrilled that tarot reader Pam Govinda is coming to Hastings, and will be available for 20-minute tarot readings at Tadhg Mae. Each reading is £15 plus booking fee.

🎫 Book your slot online at the link below.

🪶 Pam is a collage artist and tarot reader based in Mauritius. She spent half her life in South London and the other half in New York. It was in New York where her interest in the occult, tarot and Ta**ra (an esoteric form of Hinduism that works with ten facets of the Goddess, including the Goddess Kali) was sparked.

♣ Her passion for card divination was inspired when a close friend gifted her the Jean Noblet Tarot de Marseille over a decade ago. She uses the very same deck in her readings as well as the Rider Waite Smith and a bunch of RWS offshoots, as well as the more historical Visconti Tarot.

🪢 Her tarot knowledge was shaped by a course she took run by Gordon White and everything else has come via experience, intuition, and a love of symbolism and art. For her, the magic of tarot and divination is revealed through synchronicity, symbolism, history and the reader’s intuition and experience.

🃏 Her readings also combine oracle cards and a deck of good old playing cards for direct yes/no questions and they work in a pinch when a tarot deck is not on hand.

🌟 THE 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THROBBING GRISTLE.
At Tadhg Mae, George Street, Hastings.
Thursday 22 October.
🎟 Free, but booking ESSENTIAL via WeGotTickets: link below.

18th October 1976, and London’s prestigious Institute of Contemporary Arts hosts the opening of an exhibition that, almost overnight, will become celebrated, infamous, and notorious all at once.

Called PROSTITUTION, the basic premise was that it would be a retrospective of arts collective COUM Transmissions, showcasing their role in the international Mail Art movement, and also display an extensive array of props and documentation from their increasingly transgressive Performance Art actions.

Particularly provocative exhibits include Cosey Fanni Tutti’s appearance in pornographic magazines, lovingly framed and signed as artworks, and assemblages by Genesis P-Orridge incorporating Tutti’s used tampons.

Additionally, the opening night featured the formal debut of Throbbing Gristle, presenting the deliberately lo-fi garage musique concrete they dubbed “Music From the Death Factory,” to an invited audience of arts commentators, music journalists, and the regular press.

Also included were movers & shakers from the concurrently emerging punk scene, including members of the Bromley Contingent, Mark Perry & Soo Catwoman, and support band, Chelsea (soon to morph into Generation X).

Conservative MP Nicholas Fairburn pronounced “These people are the wreckers of civilisation,” subsequently there were questions asked in the House of Commons, and the director of the ICA was forced to resign.

Join Matthew Levi Stevens – and special guest Foxtrot Echo of COUM Transmissions – as they look back over the half-century since to explore the causes, consequences, and contributing factors.

⛧ Make your own magical sign and manifest something you desire. ⛧

🌀We are thrilled that Pam Govinda will be running a sigil workshop at Tadhg Mae on Saturday 3 October. £20 per person + booking fee. Booking link below.

🔮 Sigils are abstract geometrical forms or glyphs that we can create in order to work on our own sub-conscious and psyche to manifest something we desire. Pam has developed her own form of creating sigils that has grown over the years and is super fun for artists—but anyone with a piece of paper and a pen can make a sigil.
Join this fun, insightful, magickal workshop to learn more.

🪸 We are thrilled to be working with St Leonards artist Gerald Davies.

🧜‍♀️ His pieces explore British folklore, medieval imagery, coastal life and maritime traditions, drawing on influences like Heywood Summer, Hugo Winder-Lind and Quentin Blake.

⚓ He works primarily using sgraffito, scratching through layers, inspired by the scrimshaw carvings made by sailors on long voyages, all housed in vintage frames. Find out more about Gerald at our website.

🦈 If you've been into our George Street shop, you may have seen his work, which is proving hugely popular with our visitors. During the summer, the store is open week-round, 11am-5pm.

🎆 It's Old Town Carnival week!

🚲 From the steep uphill challenge of the bike race to twilight walks and seagull cry competitions, from gurning fests and winkle tossing to the fancy-dress rough-and-tumble of the Pram Race, which runs chaotically right past the front of our shop, Hastings Old Town week is eccentric, generous and a lot of fun!

Come and join in. Pick up a programme from our shop on George Street.
