North East-based animal-assisted activity, support & education service offering therapeutic interventions for people with social, emotional & mental health needs & disabilities. Pets4People is an activity and support service which uses animal assisted activities and therapeutic interventions to support children and adults with social, emotional & mental health needs and/or disabilities. It is proven that animals have a calming influence on people and when people have positive interactions with animals, managing their general health and welfare it gives people a sense of purpose and feelings of accomplishment whilst developing independence and confidence etc. Regular interaction with animals can lower stress & anxiety, increase feelings of love, belonging and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation. Support is offered on either a 1:1 basis or group activity sessions) support can be offered in a person's home, school and work place or Pets4People activity location.

🙏🏻 PLEASE HELP SUPPORT OUR CLIP CHAIR, MICHAEL BOOTH 💠

Today we are reaching out to the community to help us support someone who has spent so much of his life helping others.

Michael is our much-valued CLIP Chair, who has dedicated countless hours to charity work, supporting people living with dementia and their families, and making a difference in our community and nationwide and probably worldwide to be honest!

Michael lives with Young Onset Dementia, specifically Dysexecutive Alzheimer's disease, and sadly over the last six weeks his condition has deteriorated rapidly.

His mobility has been significantly affected, and he can no longer walk unaided.

Aline (Michael's wife and carer) and Michael are now trying to raise £2,000 towards a suitable powered mobility chair, including an additional battery and practical accessories.

This would help Michael attend appointments, visit loved ones, stay involved in community activities and continue doing the charity work he cares so deeply about.

Despite exploring NHS support and charitable funding, the urgency of Michael's needs means the family are having to raise the money themselves.

We would be incredibly grateful if our wonderful community could come together to support Aline and Michael.
