Do you have an interest in local history and are a great communicator?

The Spike Heritage Centre in Guildford is an example of an Edwardian casual ward. Built to house vagrants and casual workers, it was once part of the larger Guildford Union Workhouse site.

They are looking for Tour Guides and Tour Guide Assistants on Tuesdays and Saturdays to show visitors around this unique venue.

No specific qualifications are required and full training is given. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and be part of a team.

The Spike Heritage Centre is one of the few buildings remaining from Guildford's Workhouse in the Poor Law era, which housed the forgotten classes of Victorian England.

Part of the original site dating back to 1906 remains as a historical site open to visitors wanting to gain insight into this bygone era.

As such an old building they need handypersons to help with the upkeep of this site.
