Spend a candle lit evening connecting to your inner truths through a guided tutorial of self-expression through the art medium Henna (Mehndi).

We welcome anyone who feels called in a creative, expressive or inquisitive way to discover the ancestral wisdom of Henna (Mehndi), and express themselves in an artistic, connected way.

Skye Walia is a creative inspired by nature & connection. With more than two years event facilitation and four years of photography experience, she curates spaces where everyone feels safe, seen & heard.

What's on at New House this week:

🎲 Board Games Night, Thursday 5-8.30pm

On Thursday evening we’re launching a brand new monthly board games night, where you can come, hang out and play your favourite games!

🖊️ Writers Saloon, Saturday 10am-12pm, Free

On Saturday Writer’s Saloon () are back for their regular meetup, this time with a folky twist. Come down to meet local writers of all disciplines and abilities, discuss your favourite reads, and get encouragement with your writing.

On Saturday afternoon running into the evening we have game master coming to run two custom folk-themed Dnd sessions, as part of our exhibition with , Folk Around & Find Out.

New House Art Space presents a brand new evening of board game fun, right in the centre of Guildford. Situated in our gallery, come and play a range of traditional tabletop games surrounded by artwork in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

We’ll provide the games (but you can bring your own if you want to!), and light refreshments and snacks will be available from Frida’s Coffee House.

We've got a busy Saturday coming up at New House!

Work from the Folk Around & Find Out exhibition with is now on display, so be sure to come down and take a look at all of the brilliant artworks!

☕ Q***r Coffee Meetup, Sat 10th 10am-12pm, Free

Our regular Q***r Coffee Meetup will be taking place in between 10am-12pm, so come down for good vibes, to share stories and make new connections in a welcoming atmosphere!

✏ Drink & Draw, Sat 10th 10am-1pm, 1.30-5.30pm, £5

Drink & Draw is back this month with a folk and mythological twist, so come down for a cup of coffee, get inspired by the exhibition and spend the day drawing with fellow creatives.

🎨 Pocket Shrine Making Drop In with Gwendolyn Jones, Sat 10th 2-5pm, Free

In the afternoon, there'll be an exciting drop-in opportunity to collage your own pocket shrines with Gwendolyn Jones, as part of the Folk Around & Find Out program. Come along and get crafty!

Come and make a pocket shrine inspired by folk art tomorrow afternoon!

Deeply rooted in folklore, a pocket shrine serves as a way to carry memories, affirmations or symbols with you. 📚

In this workshop you’ll create shrines from reclaimed materials, and fill with meaningful words, imagery, objects and charms.

All materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own photos, images or other ephemera if you have a theme you’d like to work with! 🍂
