Definitely won’t disagree with The Times !! Thurne Mill’s image used to advertise The Broads as the 3rd best place in the UK to visit!!

There’s been never been a better time to enjoy the nation, from new cultural centres and museums to whisky hotels, national parks and everything in between

The rainbow over our Regulator Wind-pump, built by Bob Morse from. 4” drawing scaled up on the back of a cornflakes packet!
It won’t be long before it is restored to full working order and a must see when we open the new Wind Energy Centre…….watch this space!

Help make the exciting new Wind Energy Centre in Norfolk a reality!
For over 60 years, the Wind Energy Museum has preserved a unique collection of wind pumps and the iconic Thurne Mill. Schools, families, tourists, engineers and enthusiasts have flocked to learn about how wind harnessing has changed our history and will create power for generations to come.

Now it’s time to save this ageing resource and transform it into a Wind Energy Centre for the 21st century.
While our beautiful rural site will remain a natural habitat, a new sustainable wood and glass building will house an interactive teaching space, café and shop, and bring history, science, technology and design to life for all.
There is nothing else like the Wind Energy Centre in the UK. So please support our Crowdfunder and share it widely. It will help us get all the surveys, planning measures and research underway so that we can apply for heritage lottery funding and get building for the future!
