We're very new to this technology so please be gentle with us!!
We aim to have audio files of the discussions very soon. We're working on having these with subtitles too.

If you were at Repps, Martham or Hemsby Primary schools in the 1970s, do you remember any of the things mentioned in the interview? We'd love to hear your memories too.

Watch this space for more updates :)

We had a lovely time at our first Community Treasures oral histories and art workshop at Marina Centre Great Yarmouth yesterday.
We shared memories of primary schools and childhood play and games. Then we broke out the paints and began work on some beach huts pictures.

We'll be continuing with those next week, when our discussion will be on teenage years.

Everyone is welcome to these FREE sessions, whether you're a local Yarmouth person or have moved into the area. The sessions are suitable for all levels of art experience or ability. The emphasis is on shared experiences and having fun.

We are a community interest company, set up in 2023.
At Born and Bread GY, we believe that the people of Gt. Yarmouth have fascinating lives and heritage that deserve to be shouted about and shared.
Whether you were born in the borough, earned your bread here, or maybe moved here recently, we want to hear from you. Together we are a community, and by sharing our lived experiences and memories we make that community stronger.

We will be running a series of FREE workshops over the coming months, gathering oral histories, and creating heritage inspired art. These will be recorded and shared via the Born and Bread GY website, which will be launching soon.

The themed workshops will cover a wide range of topics including working lives, neighbours and community, housing, landmarks and community spaces, sports and leisure, high days and holidays, entertainment, famous and infamous faces! … the topics are open to what you want to share.

The first workshops will run from WEDNESDAY 24 APRIL 2.00 – 3.30pm, at , Marine Parade, Yarmouth NR30 2ER then every Wednesday following at 2pm.

No need to book. FREE tea and coffee, and up to 3 hours free car parking when using the Marina Centre.
All you need to take part are memories and enthusiasm!

First session will be on EARLY/FIRST MEMORIES OF GT. YARMOUTH BOROUGH.
