📷 Free photography workshop and photowalk this Saturday!

Taking place as part of our open photography call and Festival of the Sea Grimsby, join artist Wes Foster for a guided photowalk and workshop exploring Grimsby's Alexandra Dock. This workshop will encourage you to notice the details of a place that’s been shaped by the sea, industry and time. You'll find new ways to see and record including using phone cameras, thermal print cameras, and short written observations. With an emphasis on exploration and play over polished outcomes, the images produced will create a collective response to the site.

Participants will be able to take home prints produced with thermal cameras and will be encouraged to submit their photos for our 'This Place We Share' open photography exhibition.

Suitable for all levels. Smartphone cameras welcomed.

Take time to reflect in our latest exhibition.

'I'm Sorry' asks us to consider what is in an apology and is inspired by a deeply personal experience of loss.

The installation was created by internationally celebrated artist Annabel McCourt in her first solo show in her home town!

The exhibition is free to visit until 31st August.

📷Do you enjoy taking photos of North East Lincolnshire?

Whether you are an experienced photographer or someone who simply enjoys taking photographs on your phone, we would love to see your work. We are inviting people of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels to share photographs of the stories, moments and places that matter to them. Selected images will be displayed in an exhibition at Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre.

Up to 3 photographs can be entered into the following categories:
👥People - Portraits, communities, local characters, family, friendship, work and everyday life.
🌲Places - Landscapes, coastlines, streets, landmarks, parks and local environments.
🏢Spaces - Buildings, interiors, workplaces, public spaces and places where people gather.
🏰Historic North East Lincolnshire - Older photographs and historic images that capture the heritage and stories of the area.

⏰Submission Deadline – Monday 20th July, 11am
