Don't miss Shoes at Gosport Museum and Art Gallery!
This exhibition brings together over 50 pairs of shoes from the collections cared for by Hampshire Cultural Trust and explores themes of protect, play, transform, and empower. You'll never think about shoes in the same way again!

Shoes is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am - 4pm, and is running until 25 July 2026

Admission free, donations welcome.

Jack & Bas

Jack Dale’s style is a blend of folk and blues. Troubadours like Kelly Joe Phelps, Nick Drake, John Martyn and Charlie Parr are amongst his greatest influences. Bastien Terraz started his career as a jazz bassist, before branching out to play a range of styles, whilst also bringing vocals and Didley Bow into the mix!
Jack and Bas have been working on their original folk blues, jazz and roots inspired songs for around six years. They have played many local venues and festivals and just released their second album, titled ‘Getting Happy’.

Style and innovation

Do you know which innovative designer of the 1960s designed these boots?

The 1960s and 70s saw many daring designers emerge and begin experimenting with new materials like PVC and Vinyl. This led to playful, bold, and comfortable shoe designs.

These fabulous shoes will be on display at Gosport Museum and Art Gallery until 25th July 2026.

In this exciting escape room–style workshop, families will work together to solve clues, crack codes, and complete hands-on challenges to bring the dinosaur back to safety.

Music in the Museum with OMAM DAWN

Omam Dawn is a singer/songwriter who grew up in Gosport. She is inspired by the sounds of psych-folk musicians of the 60s/70s and uses gentle guitar and vocals to transport listeners into ethereal dreamscapes of blind birds, speaking dolphins, fishermen and darker corners of cemeteries and unrequited love.
