Folded size: 23 x 23 cm. Unfolded size: 92 x 69 cm. Double sided sheet consisting of twelve conjoined double sided squares with die-cut rounded corners. The famous exhibition catalogue from a show at Galerie Denise Rene December 15, 1964 to February 28, 1965 of kinetic art. Text in French by Jean Cassou. Participants in this collective show (and illustrated throughout in black & white) included Sergio de Camargo, Martha Boto, Paul Talman, Walter Zehringer, Michel Seuphor, Lily Greenham, Antonio Virduzzo, Francisco Sobrino, Francis R. 33.5 x 5 cm, graduated glass cylinder with title inscription which one is expected to complete by the addition of a long stemmed rose. This is one of the supposedly “unlimited” edition with a xerox certificate (missing here) but the edition size was time limited. Fine. Schnellman nr 71.

At the beginning of 1969, Brus left the country illegally with his family to settle in Berlin. There he met with Gerhard Rühm and Oswald Wiener on May 27, 1969, to establish the “Austrian Government in Exile” and its official mouthpiece, the magazine Die Schastrommel.” This is one of 500 such copies released with the other covers from the three releases all present as silkscreen inserts. Scarce. Fine.

42 x 19.6cm, 2pp announcement leaflet/poster. A performance by Paik, Moorman, Chieko Shiomi, Philip Corner, Dick Higgins, Peter Moore, and others which included Electronic TV & Color TV Experiment, 3 Robots, Pop Sonata, 2 Zen Boxes and 1 Zen Can. This was Paik’s first one-person exhibition in the United States and the image on the front of the poster is of Paik’s Robot K-456 (taken by Peter Moore). On the reverse is Paik’s essay, “Electronic TV & Color TV Experiment.” Charlotte Moorman performed ‘Pop Sonata’ for the second time, a piece which involved her removing her jewellery and clothes “before she lay down on the floor to finish the piece, her cello atop her like a lover” This leaflet was sent to Ray Johnson and the ink address on the reverse is in Moorman’s own hand. Folded for mailing else VG+. Scarce.

21 x 13.6cm, 242pp. Original wrappers. A book that contains texts about Venice where Byars purchased the book. Inside Byars has drawn a number of small motifs and texts over several pages. The first page has the text in red ink hand written by Byars: “JLB’s magic city – never entered never left/ I marry JLB in Venice a red gondola wedding full moon” And below in larger starry letting “ **** Gondalini/ rings for the sea” and “James Lee Byars Venice 1987”
On the second page there are eight small sketches of geometric shapes (with stars) which might be sculptures and a large text “ The Blue Path” again in starry lettering. An unique work by the artist given as a gestural gift and showing his love of the Italian city. Slight wear to wrappers (predating Byars appropriation) else VG+.
