Hi folks! My head is spinning!
It’s been so quiet. 🤫 n been quite a wee while since being on here - got loads of stuff going on in my other life that my favourite part of my life has been getting neglected.

The limited edition prints are v large, loud, and very funny. Lots of you loved them as did the owners! They’re just so good! Witty & cheeky, bold colour, and a martini glass—what more do you need?

Before the dark nights settle in for good here in Glasgow, let’s remember what we had just a few weeks ago—sunshine in the evenings 🌞

This joyful spring garden print by British artist and illustrator Camilla Perkins, titled Lost in the Flowerbeds, was framed in a hurry as a special gift for a very lucky recipient 😊 I’m sure she’ll have loved it.

We matched the colourful spirit of the print with a bright aqua matte frame, chosen with the room in mind—this piece was taking centre stage, so it had to impress. A moss green spacer between the glass and paper adds depth and, crucially, protects the artwork from direct contact with the glass. Always a no-no in framing ❌🫵. Cx

We recently sold this piece by Manchester artist David Bez - oil on paper - 70x70cm
With the client being able to choose the framing to suit her own room colour & design, she couldn’t resist it.

The artist, David, works from his home studio in Levenshulme, South Manchester. Born and raised in Manchester, he was encouraged to paint from an early age by his mother, a gifted textile designer. After graduating in Illustration from Manchester Metropolitan University, he spent years refining his practice through graphic design and glazed art. His work is versatile, instinctive, and unbound by medium, style or subject—always open to experimentation, always rooted in place.

New Season at Southside Gallery!
A recent visit from a large Charles McAuley painting!
It’s one of those pieces that quietly holds a whole landscape in its frame. We opted for a simple, traditional upgrade: a 12cm wide timber moulding finished in a heritage shade by Little Greene. The deep colour allows the artwork to settle and breathe, without overpowering the light and movement within the scene. A timeless pairing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Born in the Glens of Antrim in 1910, McAuley was a self-taught artist who briefly studied at Belfast and Glasgow Colleges of Art. For over seventy years, he painted the rivers, glens, mountains and village lives of Northern Ireland with instinctive fluency. His oils, watercolours and ink works capture filtered light, shifting clouds, and the quiet drama of rural life. His work lives on in private collections and the Ulster Museum—and in frames like this one, where the story continues.

Just WOW! 🤩 I do love a traditional frame around a modern image! Framed photo of an urban alleyway in Glasgow with neon geometry. The ornate gold frame adds contrast and depth, turning a modern urban scene into something more outrageous!
