With Christmas fast approaching it seems like a good time to give an update on some of the projects at Hooton Park and to send out a a Christmas greeting.
The Sopwith Baby is being prepared to have its floats fitted. This project lead by Neil and Andy has had input from several sources during 2024 and we owe them all a big thank you. This has the makings of a truly impressive restoration when completed as can be seen from comparing the 2 pictures. The first shot was taken in B.17 on 1/11/18 just after arriving at Hooton Park and the second shot taken last Friday.
The Vampire, Auster and Proctor also have dedicated teams working on them with the Proctor fuselage progress being nothing short of spectacular to say the least.
We have a big works program planned for the closed season which will improve access and displays and we hope make our Building 16 a must visit destination for 2025.
So to sign off can we wish all our followers and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all the dedicated volunteers of Hooton Park, and we look forward to seeing you again in 2025 as well as welcoming new visitors.

Big day today with the arrival on loan from RAFM at Cosford of G-ACGT Comper Swift. The negotiations have taken almost 2 years to complete and a big thank you to Neil for dealing with the mass of paperwork required to make this happen. There has been costs involved as well but as the pictures show well worth it.

Big day today with the arrival of the Comper Swift from Cosford. Its taken almost 2 years to achieve but well worth the wait. Big thank you to Neil who has handled the negotiations and brought this beauty to Hooton Park. The pictures tell the story better than me so here are some shots of the arrival and assembly by the crew from Cosford.

Weather permitting the boat club will have radio control boats and trucks on show. Wirral Amateur Radio will have there mobile unit out, the air raid experience will be in operation and the new printing museum will be open in B.27. Changes to the display's are happening all the time since the last open day one of the Martin Hearn built gliders has been pole mounted and The Aeroplane Collections Proctor is once again a complete fuselage.
