Projects are magical - Morag shares how this project began through conversations and time spent working with a forester and a soil scientist.

Using traditional photography and techniques such as intentional camera movement (ICM), Morag began exploring taking images beyond the forest ecosystem.

Morag Paterson is a Scottish photographer driven by curiosity and experimentation. Her recent work exploring forest environments has been recognised through selection for the Earth Photo Awards, with exhibitions at the Royal Geographical Society in London and toured nationally across Forestry England and National Trust sites.

Using both in-camera multiple exposure and post-processing techniques, she demonstrates how architectural details, textures, and patterns can be combined to create striking, abstract interpretations of the built environment.

Colin Westgate's 65-year photographic journey began with a 35mm camera and makeshift darkrooms, fueled by a passion for capturing the landscapes of his Sussex village. His travels soon expanded his focus to encompass the UK and the world. Although he has explored various genres, landscape photography remains his primary passion, where he emphasises tonal controls and contrast to express his artistic vision.
As he states, "The camera records what it is photographing, but it cannot record what the user ‘feels’. It is thus in the interpretation of the image where the photographer’s true self is released.”
