Hi we are a team of volunteers that run and maintain the steam boiler and engines on the racecourse colliery. We are here every Saturday so come and see us for a chat and see the engines running and the boiler making steam to run the engines.Take photos and video if you like we would be grateful if you would send us any photos and video
you have so we can put them on are Facebook group /page the

Hi all about 8 weeks ago we was preparing the cradley boiler for it's yearly test and we discovered some leaks in 2 of the wet tubes.
So sadly the cradley boiler has come to the end of its working life.
We are looking at another boiler that we have and hopefully if everything goes good with testing we will be back in steam.
We cannot give a time on how long it is going to take at the moment as we have a lot of work to do.

This Saturday we will not be in steam till the afternoon.
we will be in steam on the evening event 6.30 to 8.00.
So come over and see the boiler making steam and the glow of the fire .When you get down the village pay the lads on the Anchor forge a visit and watch them forge metal the way they did around 1890 and watch the two ton steam hammer shape metal under steam power. The anchor forge will be running on Friday and Saturday .

After a successful hot test today we can get the Cradley boiler painted read for a year of steaming.So a big thank you to all the lads for working hard to get the boiler ready for the yearly test.
