Katherine Richardson song
As part of Doncaster Pride Doncaster Brewery & Tap is launching Scandalous Mountaineers - a beer inspired by Edlington's Katherine Richardson and her friend Mary Papillon who climbed mountains together. Musician, Mick Jenkinson worked with our Creative Directions Group in Edlington in 2020 to create a fantastic song about Katherine, so we thought we'd share it with you!
Catch up with Gary, one of the musicians who works on our All Aboard Music programme, as he talks about the importance of music making and how it can support personal and social development.
All Aboard is our accessible arts programme based in Doncaster SEND schools, developing musical skills, confidence and communication. To find out more and watch the complete film, visit our website here: https://bit.ly/3ljBO9S

All Aboard Music
Take a peek into one of our All Aboard Music sessions in this short film.
All Aboard is our accessible arts programme based in Doncaster SEND schools, developing musical skills, confidence and communication. Our musicians visit schools and help young people make the music that they want to make, using Makaton and picking up on non-verbal cues from some of the young people taking part.
One of the teachers taking part in the project commented that 'you might see something [from a student] that you've never seen before, in a music session, because they're comfortable'.

Sharing the joy of song at Singing for Memory
Sharing the joy of song! 🎶
It's Dementia Action Week this week and we're thrilled to share our brand new film featuring our amazing Singing for Memory group.
This heart-warming film takes you inside our free, weekly singing sessions for people with dementia and their carers. You'll hear from the talented musicians who lead the group, sharing what they love about making music together.
But the real stars are the participants and carers themselves! They'll tell you all about the joy, connection, and friendship they find in singing familiar and new songs.
Our Singing for Memory programme highlights the power of music to bring people together. Watch the film now and see for yourself.

I'm Only Doing This For The Belly Rubs
Our First Verse group have written a brilliant new song, 'I'm Only Doing This For The Belly Rubs' inspired by Crufts
To celebrate the song's release, we've gathered together the darts dogs (and a few honorary dogs!) for our own mini-Crufts. We hope you enjoy the song - we think it's Best in Show.

Good to be invited to the Convention of the North for some Manifesto building. Calls for collaboration, investment and recognition of existing skills, culture and enterprise. It’s great to see culture, people and place high on the agenda, but hope the resources follow, and include a focus on supporting existing innovation that can be scaled up. Lots of incredible young people up on stage and sharing their hopes and anxieties for the future. @southyorksmca #COTN24 #NP11 @backchatbrass
