Brilliant time had by our large family group in just over 2 hours. Interactive challenges and games enjoyed by all the kids (5, 2 and 18 months) plus the adults if we're honest. Good variety of displays. Very informative. Would recommend to all." Angela B, Lancashire, visited October 2016.

We received a wonderful email last week from Diane & Philip at Kindred Cones who are sculptors making public art pieces.

The photos show the sculptures they made, with the help of Seth Fright at the Lab, after Phil had visited Wiltshire Museum and taken inspiration from some of our Bronze Age collection pieces.

The first image shows two amazing sculptures they created, and the second image shows the pieces that inspired them.
It only seemed right to share these amazing pieces, and on national creativity day too!

You can now see our John Piper in the South Country exhibition until SUNDAY 7th JUNE!
That's right, we have added one more day so you have an extra chance to fit this one into your schedule! On Sunday 7th June Wiltshire Museum will be open 11am - 4pm.

The exhibition is dedicated to Piper’s love of the West County, showcasing beautiful works of Devizes and other local areas.
Piper loved our hometown and even penned a four-page love letter for it. He speaks fondly of the bakers with a view overlooking the marketplace, the towns ordinariness being its hidden beauty, how our grounds are rich in archaeology but speaks less fondly of an east wind that blows through the town.

Wiltshire Museum is open Monday to Saturday, 10am – 5pm.

Create space for our new adult art & craft group!
Introducing Create Space, a group for adults who would like to explore art for their wellbeing.
Our first session will be Tuesday 9th May, 10:30am – 12:30pm and will explore the theme of botanicals. The aim of this group is to focus on the joy of creating, experimenting, connecting, and making mistakes.
Together we will explore new techniques, learn from one another and build connections.
These are trial based sessions, to understand what the community would want from a regular session.
