'Wherever the Struggle is' book launch with activist and author Bob Newland, in conversation with Tony Doherty

Bob Newland is a lifelong socialist and anti-colonial activist whose campaigning led to a direct action operation in South Africa against the apartheid regime; this book documents his political journey.

Our thanks to Bob for the deeply engaging and interesting talk, to Tony for hosting the Q&A, and to all of you who attended!

Launch of '19 Flags for Palestine' exhibition with artist 🇵🇸

Thank you to all who came along to this exhibition launch. Our thanks to for chairing the Q&A, and our utmost thanks to Euan; your work and words have been deeply moving and motivating.

"The British state continues to demonise anyone who stands up for humanity and morality - and thousands of people have been arrested in the last year for daring to challenge this proscription [of Palestine Action] by holding up cardboard signs.

It will come as no surprise that the British State's Metropolitan police force have refused to investigate actual war crimes by British nationals who participated with the IDF in Gaza. This injustice will, I'm sure, resonate with the folk here in Derry and with what the Museum of Free Derry stands for.
---
In the meantime, protest in all its manifestations and related activities IS important. And that's what I've tried to show in these dioramas - echoing what is happening around us. Be inspired and get involved - in any way you can - in standing up for the people of Palestine"
(Full transcript of his launch introduction is available on his account)

This exhibition is free to view at the Museum of Free Derry until the 12th of June
