It's been a real pleasure working with Animate Projects, Fermynwoods Contemporary Art and a brilliant group of our own volunteers to bring Corby's history to life through the WorkRecords Project. 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time, creativity and stories to the project. Together, we've found new ways to share and celebrate our town's heritage.

We look forward to working with Animate and others across the heritage sector again in the future. Watch this space!

Northamptonshire Day is heading to Kettering on 25 October 2026 - and we're looking forward to being a big part of it.

Last year, we saw what this event can do, filling Northampton Market Square with energy, colour and community spirit. This year, it's coming closer to home - and we want to be there.

Because an event like this only works when the community shows up.

A brilliant collaboration is bringing local history to Corby Library this month! 🏰

The community outreach teams from two fantastic local heritage sites - the Naseby Battlefield Project and National Trust's Lyveden New Bield - are joining forces with Corby Library for a special drop-in visit.

📅 Saturday 26th September, 2 pm–4 pm
📍 Corby Library

Come along to find out more about the rich local history on our doorstep, how to visit these remarkable sites, volunteering opportunities, and how to arrange community talks for your group.

It's a great one for families too - bring the children along to discover the arms, armour and soldiers of the Battle of Naseby (1645), one of the decisive clashes of the English Civil War, plus much more.

No booking required, drop in - a great chance to see local heritage organisations working together for the community.

🍂 Autumn (and beyond) at Deene Park

Deene Park has a wonderful season of events lined up — here's what's coming up:

Autumn Garden Tour — 8 October
Join Head Gardener Andrew for an exclusive walk through the gardens as they transition into their vibrant autumn palette of yellows, oranges and browns. Highlights include the Acer trees, Persian ironwood (Parrotia persica), tulip trees (Liriodendron tulipifera) and the magnificent Katsura tree (Cercidiphyllum japonicum), always a showstopper for its colour and candy-floss scent, plus a woodland walk carpeted in cyclamen. The tour is followed by a delicious lunch by a roaring fire in The Old Kitchen Tearoom. Limited tickets available.

7th Earl and Crimea Tour — 20, 21 & 22 October
This popular tour returns to mark the anniversary of the Charge of the Light Brigade. Explore the life of the 7th Earl and look back at photographs from the Balaklava Centenary dinner held at Deene Park in 1954, before ending with exclusive access to the Brudenell family tomb at St. Peter's Church — the final resting place of the 7th Earl and his wife Adeline. Tickets include a Deene Tea in The Old Kitchen Tearoom. Limited tickets available now.

Snowdrop Sundays — 21 & 28 February 2027
Our ever-popular Snowdrop Sundays return, with visitors invited to walk through swathes of snowdrops across the grounds. More details to follow.

Ever wondered what Corby's town centre could have looked like?

Join us on Wednesday 16th September, 11am–12.15pm, for a walking tour of Corby Town Centre with Billy Dalziel, Heritage Officer at Corby Heritage Centre. We'll take a close look at the modernist buildings that shaped the town - including some now lost - and the innovative design thinking behind the original town centre extension.
