Our Story
PLEASE NOTE THE MUSEUM CLOSED PERMANENTLY IN APRIL 2018.
The museum is dedicated to the history and memory of the Titanic and its significant impact on the people of Lancashire. Come in and learn about the White Star Line, the Lusitania and Mauretania, Olympic and the Britannic, arguably the most beautiful ships ever made by man. Discover how this immense ship was constructed and immerse yoursef with the key people from the Titanic legacy. Go back in time and experience life as a passenger, through our original artefacts and interactive projections. Allow yourself to engage with the myths and the facts surrounding the Titanic with our "Myth Busters" section. Come and be amazed at the number of influential figures, born and raised in Lancashire, some of whom survived, some who tragically perished – Such as Wallace Henry Hartley, violinist and band leader on the Titanic who famously lead his band as the ship sank into the icy depths of the Atlantic, who was born, and is buried, here in Colne: his memorial stands further down the street. Test your children’s, (and you own!) knowledge with our Titanic quiz. As we receive no public funding, there is a small entrance fee. Price: £2 adults, £1 children
