Frederick J Taylor

Frederick J Taylor Painting in oils, specialising in locomotives and animals I started painting at 19 after an injury at work left me at home for a couple of weeks.

Born on Good Friday 15th April 1949, my only claim to fame is that I share the same birth-date as Leonardo da Vinci. My father and grandfather were both coal miners and it was inevitable that when I left school at 15 I went to work down the mine. After 14 years I left to become a mine lecturer at Worksop College and then a Senior Technician in Power Industry in South Africa. I was commissioned to

provide artwork for the National Control Centre, Germiston. Returning to the UK in 1988. I joined National Power and was made redundant in 1999. I am self taught but I have recently joined a few art clubs in order to develop my painting skills. I am a member of various art groups, and exhibit with the Guild of Wiltshire Artists, The Fosseway Artists and the Guild of Railway Artists. Website: www.darknesstolight.co.uk
