Chesterfield Theatres and Museum Chesterfield Theatres & Museum presents two landmark venues. 1435 Theatre and Museum opens later in 2026 following a multi-million-pound transformation.

The Winding Wheel Theatre is open now for shows, comedy, concerts and venue hire. Winding Wheel Theatre The building that is now the Winding Wheel was once a thriving cinema originally named The Picture House and built in 1923 to the design of Sheffield architect Harold J Shepherd. In 1930 the building was extended, and a large Ballroom with sprung dance floor was added and the proscenium arch was

lavishly redesigned.In 1987, Chesterfield Borough Council purchased and completely refurbished the building and reopened it as the Winding Wheel. In 2000 the Winding Wheel was made a Grade II listed Building.We present a diverse arts and entertainment programme including West End musicals, comedy shows, concerts, dance, opera, illustrated talks and a wide range of community events.The Pomegranate Theatre A delightful Victorian 546-seat proscenium arch theatre housed in the Grade II listed [George] Stephenson Memorial Hall. Established in 1949 this is the country’s oldest civic theatre with Chesterfield Borough Council continuing the proud tradition of providing a year round programme of professional touring and high quality local amateur productions. Over the course of a theatregoing year we aim to make audiences laugh, cry and debate.

Meet the Beauty and the Beast Panto cast!

Joining Actor Jake Canuso, best known for his long-running role as Mateo in the hit ITV comedy Benidorm, is a hugely talented cast, including the previously announced Matthew Siveter as Dame Betty Bon Bon; much-loved Little Wolf panto comic, Harry Polden who will keep audiences laughing as the wonderfully mischievous Idle Jacques; Rhian Lynch stars as our brave heroine, Belle; Rob Leetham plays her father Marcel; Louise Liluna Browning will be casting a spell over Chesterfield as The Enchantress, Olivia Chandler appears the put upon La Fool, and acclaimed West End performer Andrew J Carter (recently returned from the international tour of Phantom of the Opera), appears as The Beast.

Panto cast announcement!

Beloved television actor Jake Canuso, best known for his long-running role as Mateo in the hit ITV comedy Benidorm, is set to delight audiences this Christmas as he joins the cast of Beauty and the Beast.

Jake takes on the role of Gaston, bringing his trademark charisma, comic timing and larger-than-life personality to the stage. Having entertained millions of television viewers throughout his career, he is excited to swap the Costa Blanca for the bright lights of Chesterfield.
