Artist in Residence Richard Wood shares what he makes, how he makes it, and the story of the Dowdeswell Pike, featured in his current working project, 𝘈 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘮.

Cheltenham Stories has officially launched!

📍Did you know Cheltenham’s oldest building, The Minster, is one of the key stops on this walking route?

Councillor Izaac Tailford introduces the project and one of its featured locations.

𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 is a new digital and physical map that invites you to discover ten fascinating stories about the town, highlighting a variety of other must-see locations along the way.

We hope you enjoy uncovering hidden corners of Cheltenham and perhaps view some familiar streets in a new light!

This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund

A new digital and physical map, telling the story of Cheltenham's rich and diverse cultural history. It invites you to discover ten fascinating stories about the town, highlighting a variety of other must-see locations along the way.

📍Launching this Saturday, 13 JUNE. All stories can be navigated on foot from as a central starting point.

🌺 The Art of Looking: from Dutch Masters to Modern Britain at Wilson Art Gallery & Museum

This new exhibition invites visitors to explore how art, identity, and creative ambition evolved across centuries of social and cultural change.

🌺 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆: On the third floor, paintings are gathered in tightly packed clusters in a floor-to-ceiling 'Salon Hang'.Originating in 17th-century Paris, salon hangs bring artworks into conversation with one another. Colours, textures, and stories begin to connect.

I’m Narna, new Digital Storyteller at The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum.

☆ Here is a little bit about me. Im a videographer and artist from Stroud who loves all things analogue and archival.

☆What also brings me JOY: dancing, rollerskating and going on long itinerary-filled day trips on foot.

I think things are worth keeping when they lead to new ideas, creations and connections.

The Art of Looking: from Dutch Masters to Modern Britain at Wilson Art Gallery & Museum 🎨

Open from 29th MAY 26 - 3rd JAN 27

This painting, Seated Figure, by Edward Wolfe will be part of the exhibition. Edward Wolfe worked at the bohemian Omega Workshops, and the bold yellow palette and stylised forms of this painting channel the avant-garde energy of that era.

This new exhibition invites visitors to explore how art, identity, and creative ambition evolved across centuries of social and cultural change.

Featuring works from the de Ferrières Collection alongside major British and international 20th century artists.

Through carefully designed displays and spaces for reflection, The Art of Looking encourages a slower, deeper engagement with art.
