🚫 Soviet Geologists Dug 12 km Into the Earth — Then Sealed It Forever 😱

In 1970, the Soviet Union began the most ambitious drilling project in human history — not into space, but straight down.

By 1989 they had reached 12 kilometres underground. The rocks were wet. The fossils had no business being there. And then the audio equipment picked up something no one could explain.

This is the Kola Superdeep Borehole — and what they found down there was enough to stop one of the most powerful scientific programs in Cold War history.
