Colne Valley Miniature Railway Visiting locomotives welcome, please get in touch! Colne Valley Miniature Railway also know as CVMR is based at Colne Valley Railway in Castle Hedingham.

UNLIMITED rides, running side-by-side the main railway! It consists of 7 locomotives, two battery, two petrol, and three steam (another steam loco in the making) we have about 700 metres of running line.

on 2 railways!

🎫 As well as having lots of train rides, you can also explore
our other attractions such as the Interpretation centre &
Massive-interactive Tierney Model Railway!

🧺 We have some lovely weather for an autumnal picnic,
with plenty of spots around the railway to relax!

🧁 Light refreshments, ice creams and hot drinks available
in our shop, along with a range of branded merch!

The Colne Valley Railway gala will be on the 25th!

in the fully operational Hedingham signalbox!
Who is REALLY in control of the railway?
(Hint - it's not the driver!)

🥪 Light refreshments and ice creams available in the shop
However, feel free to bring your own picnic as we have
lots of spots around the site for you to relax,
watching the trains trundle by!

🚆 On the Colne Valley Railway -

SATURDAY - Static display day -
No public trains will be running on the big railway
- museum viewing and static trains.
Only the miniature railway will be running
Although, there may be some shunting going on.

SUNDAY - 2 RAILWAYS DAY
A heritage locomotive will be running on the big railway
either with vintage carriages or open wagons.
The miniature railway will be running Side-by-side
so we may even get a train race!

🥪 We have plenty of space for picnics around the railway
And for an extra treat, sweets & ice creams in the shop!

🕥 SATURDAY - Mini rail open 11:00 - 15:00
