When a book becomes a work of art 📖

Five years ago today, ‘Ivorypress at Kettle’s Yard’ opened in the house.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Madrid-based publisher, the display brought together artists’ books, paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs by Fernando Casasempere, Eduardo Chillida, Mariana Cook, Richard Long and Blanca Miró Skoudy, alongside works from our collection.

On the Library table, Richard Long’s ‘Walking and Sleeping’ recorded the artist’s journeys through photographs, text and mud drawings. Handmade paper containing stones and straw brought the landscape into the book itself 🌿

An evening with Friends 🥂

Last Thursday, we welcomed 70 Friends to Kettle’s Yard for our Annual Party.

The evening began with drinks and speeches in the house as we reflected on the year’s achievements and looked ahead to 2027. Celebrations continued with light bites and the chance to explore our current exhibition, ‘Sunil Gupta: Life with a Camera, 1970 – Now’, after hours.

Our Friends play a vital role at Kettle’s Yard, helping us care for the house and collection and supporting our exhibitions, learning and community projects.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to all our Friends for their continued generosity and support 💛
