Bore da everyone!
We have some very exciting and historical news to share with you.

Two days ago, the museum received a donation piece of RAF Llandwrog history. As some of you know already, the airfield stationed a number of aircraft in World War Two, such as the Westland Lysander, Armstong Whitworth Whitley and Avro Anson.

The piece donated is the propeller off an Avro Anson, specifically Mk.I EF823, which departed RAF Llandwrog part of No. 9 (Observers) Advanced Flying Training Unit, with 5 crew on board. Sadly the aircraft crashed in
Tal-y-Bont (South Wales) in 1943. Amazingly, ALL of the crew SURVIVED!

The propeller was saved and preserved by a lovely gentleman called Dewi Evans, who rescued the piece and kept hanging in his barn for 83 years! Sadly Dewi is no longer with us to see this reunion, but in spirit, I feel he was there. However, his son John Evans was there and kindly donated the piece to us with help from Hugh Morgan.

This piece will be on display in our “Timeline” section, once it’s complete. However, the propeller can still be viewed inside the shop .

Everyone associated with the Airworld Museum, would like to gratefully thank the Evans family for saving this piece of RAF Llandwrog history, Hugh Morgan for reaching out to us for making this all happen, Daniel Maguire who is part of Aviação TV for capturing this reunion on film and putting all the clips together. And of course the museum staff for their wonderful help on the day.

Without any of you, this simply wouldn’t have happened.

Models table is BACK!!

Our donation table has returned.
If you can give a donation into our donation pot, please feel free to take a model.
Please give what you can 😀

We have recently discovered quite a few more old models that were in the previous model room some years ago.
Some decent ones, that will hopefully fit and go into our model room once we have revamped it.
And some not so good, decent models for the children to start their very own selection.

So here we have, the first set of models back on the donations table.

Again, please give what you can. We and the museum will really appreciate it.

Diolch yn fawr iawn!
Thank you very much!

We will be shortly be starting to renovate our model room!

So, we have had a little bit of a clear out and kept the ones that look show room standard.

We are now very kindly asking if there is anyone out there, that has models they are willing to donate to the museum to be put on display please?

Airfix, Revell built etc or Die-cast are what we are looking for.

Helicopters in Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and British Army would be VERY welcome!

Please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Bore da everyone!

Please welcome the NEW recently repositioned RAF ‘617 Dambusters’ Squadron and Lancaster exhibit. It’s in a bright new section, taking advantage of the big beautiful artwork of a Lancaster “returning home”.

The area is still a work in progress, and need some tweaks. But, you can see what we are aiming for.
On the far right, is a section dedicated to the man that led 617 Sqn, Wing Commander Guy Gibson. We have nicknamed it “Gibson Corner”.

We hope you all approve of this, as we think it is in a much better area to be viewed by our visitors.

Thank you all once again for your huge support!
