Wild Cliff is a view that lived in my daily life growing up in Bude. I'd stand on the viewpoint, watching those headlands stretch out towards Trevose Head, and then the weather would roll in - bands of heavy rain sweeping across the bay, the view disappearing into the storm.
It was watching that wild, untamed energy that cemented my love of this place. That respect for the elements. That understanding of how powerful and alive the north Cornish coast really is.
This painting captures that moment. That feeling of standing on the edge, watching the weather move across the water, knowing you're witnessing something both beautiful and fierce.
It's a painting about place and memory. About the landscapes that shape us. About why we're drawn back to certain views, again and again.
